2.0 and 2.1 have been really good at making seemingly nice songs and making them heartbreaking after finishing the story. First we had “If I can stop one heart from breaking” and now this. We first thought this was a groovy jazz song. Then we thought it was about the Trailblazer. Now we realize it was about Aventurine, and it is really sad.

This was the version trailer for 2.0 which is the introduction of a new planet, Penacony. Penacony is a planet that mostly exists in a literal shared dream. Dream logic reigns Supreme and it looks like the story is going to be amazing. And it drops later today.

This is the intro video for the 2.0 patch wich introduces Penacony, world of dreams so they had to go all out with it, they did a similar thing with the game's release so it not that unique. Btw, did u check out the Senadina Character trailer for HI3? it has a similar beat going on. And sure! there's plenty of HSR content for u to check out, from the version trailers(of wich White Night was one off) to the many character trailers(Black Swan's released today) so sure! go all out for it!

To clarify regarding the versions: the version you watched is the shortened/tv/movie version (which is often done for east asian media to fit into time-limited content such as anime episodes). There is a full version in English, as well as in three additional languages: Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, & Korean, each with slightly different lyrics, which give off different vibes. As for why this doesn’t sound like any of the boss themes, this is actually the theme song for the new world added to Honkai Star Rail: Penacony, which is a world of festivities/“where dreams come true”. Regarding HSR reactions, there are actually quite a few really fun ones that have come out lately. My personal recommendation for great reaction material is ‘Sweet Dreams Preview: “The Great Tatalov”’. There are also a few other really funny videos, such as the “Breaking News!” They even went as far as to invite a Nobel Laureate to promote the game / give lessons on dream theory.

I'd say this actually does fit in with selected parts of the Star Rail soundtrack - while most of it is atmospheric or battle music, there are times where it drops into a softer "we're exploring the universe and all we know about where we're going is it'll be unknown" vibe. And they've had vocal tracks before. In some ways it's easier to do this with Star Rail - a lot of why Hoyoverse has gotten away with so much in Genshin Impact (not that they haven't also been censored multiple times) is that they can point to extensive cultural research informing all of their art. That does limit the scope of what they can officially produce rather than focus on out of fan works.
