Jerome focused on madness, revenge and base urges. Jeremiah did the same thing honestly but devoted to his ego whereas Jerome didn't care AS much about himself. On a scale of narcissist/ goal-oriented, Jerome would be least, Nicholson's is crazier than Jerome and probably the most insane as shown by his wardrobe too but he has his face branded on his henchmens' jackets so idk, Ledger's would be in the middle as he cares not about himself but he's trying to prove a point still and has somewhat of a goal, Jeremiah after him and Leto's the most. Idk where comic Joker would be since there's so many changes throughout the years as well as versions idk ledger and Nicholson can be switched around

nocholson was the spitting image of the joker and any changes like his weight, the oversized blue tie, the pajam pants all improve and serve the character in the film even if i think the film isn't the best. Is it really that bad that Jeremiah is similar to Hannibal Lecter? The Joker and Lecter are very much alike in their psychology. And if Jerome was the flare and showmanship of what the Joker will someday be, Jeremiah is the methodical side. And someday, I imagine Jeremiah will have some kind of accident that causes him to forget which past was truly his, and will gain the traits of both Jerome and Jeremiah since he can’t figure out which one he really is, and therefor decides he’s just going to be both. A new hybrid, called Joker.

wrong. Unfortunately instead of doing that, they made him remember everything, he's still incredibly smart but imo he should've forgotten everything. But Jeremiah and Joker from Batman Beyond Return of the Joker are some of the most intimidating Jokers but I don't think they really fit the character. They make for very well written and intimidating villains and Jeremiah has his place in history as an amazing villain. As for Beyond Joker's design, it's good from the head up, the red eyes and gelled hair taken from Hannibal Lecter from the book. The body suit I'm not too fond of, they should've just went with black. or even a red shine. Not a purple shine. Idk the purple suit works because it's reminiscent of royalty or a jester or it's making FUN of suits with such a bold and wacky color. That's not the original intention behind it being purple ofc, it was just to make the character stand out so I guess it works but I think purple looks better on a 1940s Joker than the way they did it in Batman Beyond. Idk they probably could've picked a better outfit. Just my opinion because so many comic characters have that color scheme. Characters change and so should color schemes if it serves the character and mostly the story. Idk point is, Jeremiah is a very well written character although he was boring to watch in season 4, he could be pretty menacing if it was done right. He is menacing in a lot of these scenes. Really a perfect character but not The Joker. Ledger still wasn't that serious. He still laughed and told jokes. So did Jeremiah but he works as a POSSIBLE proto Joker and a VERY VERY good villain. He is the sociopath not Jerome. Jerome cares for noone. He's a psychopath if any of them are. And Jeremiah is the sociopath if either of them are. He cares for his mom and Bruce. Jeremiah is one of the greatest villains I've seen, he's just too SMART to be The Joker. HE should not have been the one to create No Mans' Land. At least not alone with only Raas. Lex Luthor would be more fitting. Or Riddler since they could use him.

Like the silver age I suppose or john doe from telltale season 2. The only way to make silver age joker threatening is if he genuinely didn't know he was hurting people but was too insane to notice. Also you forget bronze age joker which is just the modern joker but not as edgy and dark, he still kills people but idk this whole idea you have is kinda stupid ngl. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I honestly do not think it was necessary for Jeremiah to fall into the acid and become this creepy, grotesque version of the character. If you look at Tim Burton's 'Batman' Jack Nicholson did fall in and obtain scars which he covered with white makeup and red lipstick - the classic Joker style. The same with the legendary Heath Ledger: scars concealed by make up. Jerome already had the scars after his face was literally cut off and stapled/sewn back on. Maybe they were trying to go take the Joker character to new heights (even though he is not known as Joker in the series), but I felt Jeremiah was scary enough without turning him ugly!

I like it cause his face is terrifying and the only issue is his hair. He can simply wear an a green wig or sow some dyed greeen goat hairs to his head and look more like the classic joker wiht some chemical burn

Jeremiah is and has always been pure evil Edit 1 yr later: I like the idea a normal person suddenly becomes this pure evil person and it's never explained, my original comment is the only explanation. Or loneliness can drive a person mad. But he had a girlfriend and a successful career so really how lonely was he?

I like to thing the real victory of Jerome is manipulate Jeremiah, he talk abaout the things Jeremiah do to him, not like You are trash. Most like, hey: Be Bad, feels good, right?
