Gotta admit that I was disappointed when he said “this video is sponsored by” and didn’t follow it with “Nobody! (Clap!)”
"They say that 15 hours of Babbel are equal to a semester of school" Here's a loosely related story. In school, I sucked at maths. I had an F. I basically couldn't solve an X+1=5 equations, because I didn't know how. Part of the blame is with me of course, but also a huge part with my teachers who were just content to keep giving me poor grades and not fix the low-level issues with my education, proceeding to more advanced topics that I didn't have a chance to understand because I didn't get the underlying basics. Anyway, I somehow pulled through to the last school year, and now I gotta move on to Colledge education hopefully. But which college will accept a person who can't cound, basically? So my parents hired a private tutor. I studied with that tutor for 3 weeks, about 12-16 hours each week, and as a result I got a B on school's exiting exams and a B in college entrance exams. My parents got called in to the school's principal office and got told that I clearly cheated on the exam, but the school just doesn't want to deal with it so they will let it slide and get rid of me. They did not believe that a good private teacher could explain Maths to me SO FUCKING WELL that I went from knowing nothing and struggling with dividing numbers - to passing the last year exams with a good grade. That teacher found a right approach to me both as a human being and by explaining maths to me in terms that were easy to digest for ME personally. That person knew their subject so well that they could explain every rule or theorem in multiple different ways and from different angles, which meant that if one approach didn't do it for me - the next one would. I'm a software engineer now in a sphere that uses maths, especially vector algebra A LOT. Just a story for other people that YES, a good learning approach can do wonders. And also for parents - if your kid is struggling with a subject, it may very well be that his teacher just sucks. Of course there could be other reasons, but don't discount that option.

I also had teachers like that. Allowed students to slip through the cracks. The problem lies in the foundation of the education system itself. Students are treated as production units. Not a human being. Teachers need to be passionate about educating and not there for a check. It doesn’t help they’re severely underpaid and over worked. Many unpaid hours at home grading and writing reports. Preparing the curriculum for the term, week or following day. So many of us can see that the education system is an utter failure, yet we do nothing to overhaul it and improve upon the concept. It doesn’t reward creativity and ingenuity, it punishes it. So sad really

Queen for rook and knight when up material isn’t thatttt bad
@danlorett21843 жыл бұрын
It's kindaaaa shit tho. In a closed position the knight will be better... later in the game the rook will be better. But the Queen is legit always going to be better than both.
