@StKozlovsky5 ай бұрын
At 21:05 Levy sings "2400" in an interesting way. I don't know what song he's referencing or if it's something he made up right then, but the rhythm he's using is 5 + 5 + 6 - "twenty-four hundred" has 5 syllables, and he drags out the "four" once to make it twice as long. 5 + 5 + 6 = 16, which is equally divisible by 4 and is therefore "common time", the simple 4/4 meter of much of western music, just using 16th notes, BUT the notes are ususually grouped! Common time with 16th notes would usually be 4 + 4 + 4 + 4, four equal groupings, unlike what we see here. 5 + 5 + 6 could be further broken down into (2 + 3) + (2 + 3) + (2 + 2 + 2). This alteration of length-2 beats and length-3 beats is a common feature of Balkan folk music (search "Izvor - Setnala se kuzum stana" for an example of 3 + 2 + 2), but rarely heard in the West, apart from intentionally weird stuff like Tool. How strange that Levy would do something like this all of a sudden! Almost as strange as the fact that I've written this comment under a 2 year old video that no one will read.
