Extreme chess idea: Whenever a piece is captured, you have to run 100 meters but only the one who captured. The idea behind it is that you have to manage your strength while running to keep going and also keep an eye on the clock. Maybe you have to delay a capture or two to catch your breath while the effort of running also affects your logical thinking. An endgame under time pressure would certainly be fun then.

full tilt chess... two players strapped to gurneys on a rotating platform. you start off lying completely horizontal. The better you do, vis a vis stockfish, the more upright you get. the worse you do, the more backwards you get. If you want to have real fun swap it the other way so a win puts you on your head so the game gets harder the better you do.

He is taking out you and your friends one at a time. The only way to win is to beat him at his game. - Pointy chess: Every move, even mate is awarded points, rare moves (like bA1 to H8 or pawn mate) are awarded higher points. Resigning is a strategy, but loses a % of points. Person with highest points at the end of game wins.
