I’m sharing with you some of my favourite, basic skincare products that just happen to be budget-friendly and super affordable! All of these are high quality despite the low price and everything is under $20. I have something for all skin types! I’m sticking to skincare basics with this video and will most likely do another one with my favourite masks and other actives and special treatments! Some of these items have remained favorites for years, standing the test of time while there are a few newer discoveries too.
I had a few lighting/filming glitches so excuse any inconsistency in quality!

I struggled with severe acne for years. This has caused a lot of pain both physically and emotionally. I was a confident, fun-loving human before, you see. I'm sure that everyone can relate one way or another. It is our face first that others see and how we see ourselves can somehow be affected by that. I'm also struggling to make ends meet so going to a dermatologist is not an option for me. I have to make do, I never stopped looking for (cheap) solutions. I searched and searched and searched the internet (I even found Caroline Hirons' blog; she's also amazing, but I couldn't afford the majority of Western products she endorses) looking for help, and then a year ago I found your channel. It was your voice that has first held my attention. My inner gut said, "Stay. You can trust her." Weird, I know. And oh boy, have I found what I was looking for. Your mostly Asian product recommendations and overall knowledge about key ingredients stirred me in the right direction, completely changing my skin care game. It's kind of a daily/nightly ritual for me now. Needless to say, because of you, my skin has cleared. And more importantly because of you, I found my confident self again. So, thank you.

I used to have horrible hormonal acne from stopping birth control about 3 years ago & got the worst break out that I've ever had, all along the jawline just white puss-filled spots & cystic acne that would come out every morning no matter what. I'm sure it was also time that rebalanced my hormones, but I've seen drastic changes in the occasional spots and how they heal since I changed my routine. I wash my face with Avene Cleanance, use the Missha First Treatment Essence & use The Ordinary Hylamide serum afterwards and I do this in the morning and night. Also add the La Roche Posay Toleriane Fluid for daytime (just started using this recently and really love it), and mix it up for my night routine. I always use the Biologique Recherche P50 PIGM400 (used the original version and the mild version as well but like this one the most, smells and feels lighter) when I don't use anything with retinol. I use the Dermadoctor Poetry in Lotion retinol 1x a week, otherwise I do the P50 and add a moisturizer. I just used up a Kiehls dark spot correcting moisturizer, and now purchased the La Roche Posay Toleriane Nuit which Renee recommended in one of her last videos, I'm excited to see how it is, although I'm not too fussy about moisturizers : ) Can't wait to try out some of these cheaper recommendations from the video, although other than the P50, most of these are around and under the 20 euro mark as well!

My skincare guru! I have clear skin! I really, really do and it's been a couple weeks. I finally feel like my skin is on the mend but it's taken almost 2 years of trial and error. Pyungkang Yul was the final products added and my skin is much better hydrated since. NIOD line in full has been ongoing since April and I added P50 1970 about 4 months ago. All those together have finally given me clear skin. I'm so happy and feel more confident. I went out yesterday without makeup for time in 2 yrs.

I so love the Hada labo premium hyaluronic serum. It's my 'can't do without' EVER product. It plumps and moisturises my 45 year old oily, yet dehydrated skin beautifully and doesnt cause any blocked comedones or breakouts. Using this and primer together, mean I can go without a moisturiser under my foundation. Just smooth, glowing and hydrated skin is what I'm left with.💕

Two years late on this... smh.... but if you’re still wondering for your body it has more so to do with exfoliation. Making sure you use an exfoliator/exfoliating cloth at least 1-3 times a week is really the key to acne scars. It doesn’t matter too much which ingredients are in those exfoliators just stay away from sodium (which is so weird ik, but a lot do have it) because it’s very drying. But honestly just do that and you should see a BIG difference in your body scars. I’ve suffered for years then realized a Korean exfoliating rag was all I needed lol. And sunscreen to obviously not make them any darker.

i dont know if you'll read this since I'm also 2 years late like the reply above haha. I'm suffering from body acne and acne scars, particularly from my chest and back area :(. I still get some but I believe it's due to my skin type which is oily and my diet (horrible lol). What I use to help with this is I use the Salux Nylon Beauty Skin Exfoliating Bath Japanese Washcloth/Towel which you can buy on their website ( i would say buy it from there because you can trust it's actually made in japan rather than purchasing them on amazon or other websites which might be fake and won't say that). I also use a fragrance-free body soap bar. Now once a week, I take a warm bath with Epsom salt for about 25-30 min which is about 5 bucks a bag at target (i like the lavender one). These have actually helped me reduce by bacne and acne scars on my chest and back but i still get some unfortunately because I have a bad diet so i would recommend to stop eating processed sugar, eat natural sugars like from fruits for example, stop eating breads or if you cant then eat whole wheat/grain 100% , snack on nuts instead of chips, eat more vegetables and fruits. I hope this helps you!

My skincare is actually running out, and omg I didn’t know I needed this! I’ve never tried the 7 skin method or these products but this girl is about to do an overhaul for her skin! 😂 lol I have dehydrated oily skin FOR sure and I am so excited for these affordable, but effective products. Thank you! I’ve absolutely subbed.

Sooo appreciate this video - as well as your whole channel. While I would LOVE to drop $600 and just buy the whole Drunk Elephant line, that's not exactly affordable right now. I've tried most of their products and loved them, and I love that you have shown us some great dupes and alternatives for those of us who deeply care and are choosy about skincare. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! 🤗

Thank you Kendra! Inexpensive products don't have to be a compromise though alot of the times, they are heinously disappointing for us choosy, picky skincare addicts! Many of these products I use over DE or any luxury brand even though I'm a sucker for luxury!

Oh man, this will be my shopping list for next payday. I recently came across a host of K Beauty products on an international site, and the prices were so affordable. I've been trying out a new toner, eye cream, cleanser (the lightweight 'the face shop' you mentioned funny enough!), sheet mask and lip balm for the last 2-3 weeks, and I have to say, I can understand why this market is huge.. I've been impressed so far. No negative reactions so far. So happy I've come across this video, hopefully the website I shopped from will feature most of these, ha!

I'm in the medical field; and as such there are not many people I trust with skin pathophysiology. I must say a huge thank you for these vids as it's really difficult to find good topical products that don't cost a bomb! I love THE ORDINARY btw..amazing actives! I've just moved over to Canada from Europe so I have no idea where to find my go to products :-(. I hope I'll be able to access some of your recommendations.

Wonderful! Thank you, as I cannot live without certain products including sunscreens which I understand are a different formulation in North America... I'm running out of Obagi Vitamin C and unfortunately tried "The Ordinary Vitamin C" -- I found it grainy and although I'm no stranger to acids/vit C it burnt... not a fan at all... I'm going to be trawling through your videos now, to see whether you have reviewed it... I'm unfortunately going back to Obagi-- hope I can find it on one of your recommended sites.

I recently found your channel because I am someone who suffers feom hyperpigmentation due to when I felt with acne. I have a hormonal imbalance so for me acme was a normal thing even if it drives me insane! I tend to break out around my jawline/ cheeks. I keep my skincare basic I use alot of Cetaphil and some Aveeno because that works for me. I also use vitamin C oils and I recently started using Rose hip oil because I hear it's good for the skin. I also always put on a sunscreen. I just wanted to say I love your channel you really go into depth with explaining it all thoroughly. Thank you!!!

I love watching you and getting educated on skincare. I'm 48, menopausal, extremely dry skinned. Sun worshipping in my first 25 years so showing sun damage now. I love the idea of all the serums and creams and toners but have no clue what to use when and what order to apply. I love the Ordinary and have a few items and want more. I think this video is super helpful and I will order a few more things to add to my regimen.

I know this is about a year late, but thank you so much for recommending the Bright Booster Oil Elixir! It has been an absolute lifesaver for my sensitive skin in the very dry winter climate I now live in. I gotta say thank you so much for this video. I could probably spend more on my skincare, but as someone who still hasn't found what my sensitive skin reacts to yet, spending big bucks on what everyone says is their "holy grail" that I will later have to toss because my skin decides to just self-destruct is just not a smart idea. I've been able to build a routine from your video because you're so thorough in your explanation of what each product is good for and how they react to the skin. I've had to ditch a couple of things, but right now, my skin is FINALLY at peace. I'm kind of scared to try other things now, but thank you sooo much for getting me to this point. :) I am incredibly happy and have been just binging all of your videos for the past few weeks trying to find the next step to my skincare.
