it doesn't matter when you get the claw or when you start upgrading it. it always maxes out at the same level, with the same stats and costs the same hitpoints. for example if you get it at level 29 and you upgrade it once (one handed, which is much better because faster and less buggy combos) it jumps straight to 100 dmg and 32 crit costing you 55 hp also it is the most broken weapon in the game. if you kill human NPCs with the lightning damage it doesn't count as a regular kill and people don't want to murder you. Bonus damage also ignores blocks, making it extremely strong vs lizardmen and orcs. bonus damage is also flat 100 hp every time no matter the level of the weapon and enemy armor

​@@adziup I have came to the same conclusion. I don't think I will use it ever again.If you are a pro gothic player it makes the game too easy,it is cool for new players though.Also one handed variation is way stronger than two handed one.

@@adziup I agree. This is why I only play vanilla nowadays. In NotR even if you decide to not use the claw you have to do the extremely tedious stat potion & stone tablet minmaxing and the difficulty of the game becomes completely inconsistent. Vanilla is way less tedious.

@@adziup well you can always destroy it to get some xp, game never forces you to wield it, unlike others where the main reward from the expansion would be simply the sword. Here you can destroy it, also get a nice rune if im not mistaken, dont remember well. You can just simply play the game without it, while other players may want to feel utterly powerful in a run, so they would use it. Also, by using it, you basically become Beliar pawn, which in roleplaying terms is "wrong".

You can upgrade the Claw once @ every 2 levels. However the max Lv requirement for the Claw is 48 which is pretty hard to get to in the default version of the game. But i have tested this with a mod called Heights of Power and the max level of the claw remains the same. Once you are above Character Level 48 you cannot upgrade the Claw any further. So bassicly the max level of the Claw is Lv.24 This also means that if you collect the Claw above lv 48 and Activate it , it's instant max level without the need to sacrifise any HP to wield it's power. But all in all it's a damn strong Weapon about equally strong as the Wrath of Innos Blade. The only difference between the 2 is that the Claw leave behind electric lightnings even when blocking attacks. Which makes this Weapon so damn strong ^^ But good video :)

If you are Level 48+ when activating it then yes you can :) But in default Gothic 2 + Night of the Raven this will be nearly impossible. But with Heights of Power this is a peace of cake :p Keep in mind though that Heights of Power will increase game difficulty & it will give more 3x more HP but also more exp. Heights of Power will also give more exp for certain choices [Sample: Pay the gold for Gritta to Matteo] It also adds new weapons [Swords , Bows , Crossbows , etc] But it also fixes the pernament potion stat increase [From 3 to 5] Heights of power will also allow you to get to 300 Strength / Dexterity [Default this is 200] But you can also train it through certain trainers like Cassia to 200 Strength / Dexterity Should you want to see a view point on how different it is. Then go to my Channel and check the 1st episode of my Adanos Playthrough + the 1st episode of my Innos Playthrough. The best example i can give is that in the default game , a Young Field Raider requires a Fire Arrow , [25 Damage] but with Heights of Power the Fireball [75 Damage] will not even kill it. Playthrough of Beliar is coming soon :) But i am pretty sure the video's will show the major differences between the 2 :) So if you want , you can find enough video's that will show the differences [1/3] = Adanos [With Heights of Power] [G2] [2/3] = Innos [Without Heights of Power] [G2] [3/3] = Beliar [With Heights of Power] [G2] [Coming Soon!] But you are welcome my friend :) Keep up the good work

@@TheSharpmarksman It's rather simple :) 1: Download Heights of Power [Best way is to download it from World of Gothic] 2: Open Heights of Power via Winrar on any other same like program 3: Copy paste: _Work & Data folder to anywhere you like [Desktop / Gothic 2 Folder works best] 4: Run the installer exe 5: Select the within the installer the folder map where you Gothic files are located @. This can either be within the Steam folder or JoWooD production folder and if it all should work then the installer will detect the Gothic 2 Exe and thus can install if it doesn't find the exe the installer will remain gray when trying to install. If you can't figure it out let me know and i try to help once more ^^ Be warned though Heights of Power makes the game quite a bit harder :) You can find playthrough's on my channel should you need a guide etc Path [1/3] has 100% accurate time links for you to enjoy ^^ GL my friend :3

@@Meikitamemo It's not that hard to reach level 48+, just complete every quest, kill every orc inside the Colony and do some backtracking to Jharkendar. Usually I'm about level 50 when going to Irdorath.

That was just two-handed version. One-handed Claw's max abilities are damage 110 with 50% chance of extra damage.

Don't spread misinformation. The fact that one handed does 110 dmg with 50% chance of extra damage but 2 handed version is 120 dmg with same crit chance. If you ask me I would go for one handed because you are doubtless slower with two handed and only have 10dmg more which is not worth it

For people wondering. The nameless hero is obviously the avatar of Adanos. Adanos being the god of balance, i dont find surprising that he lets its champion serves Innos and Beliar at the same time. Lets not forget we just use the sword, furthermore against its owner's minions

I think you can kill Raven without XP by luring him to the spike trap and activating it with the correct lever (the spikes won't come up under you)

Claw of Beliar is such a herpy derp weapon. With it you can relativlly easlly kill every orc in the Minning Valley in chapter 2 (their are some mean points, but nothing a Rain of Fire Scroll + Speed potion combo cant fix). It is just make the game to easy. Which is a shame that the spells from it for the Mage sucks so much balls. :(

I still love it... it's just so satisfying melting through a golem in a single strike.... well to be fair mages got pretty damn enough OP spells in fact once you get past the basic spells and a decent amount of mana the game is no challenge anymore

The life-stealing spell is useful because it makes beating up people a lot easier, and the zombie summon spell is good against seekers and helpful against orcs, lizard men and dragons.

I always turned it into a spell as a mage :P To have an OP-Sword is ok, but you get it way too eraly. But honestly, Vanilla G2 was way easier. I was killing shadow hunters before chapter 2.....

funny to see but not useful at all if any npc see u after transforming into monster they will hunt u forever so u ruin all quests in jarkendar bandit camp and it always maxes up at the same lvl cap for example it doesnt matter if u unlock it on lvl 21 or 1 as if u pray for beliar u will lose more hp and "max out" beliar claw for your lvl cap this way u can just get it earlier and ruin your free exp from quests in bandit camp *which i always kill at the end game anyway*

Doesn't matter. Its still shit. Bersekers axe is way better weapon. At the end of your game you are able to beat Orc on one hit. Its only useful when you are playing as a mage but also not so much. Better deal it for XP,.

W pewnym sensie. Po prostu zawsze jak się modlisz do Beliara to Szpon się dostosowuje do Ciebie. Im większy masz lvl, tym większe zadaje dmg. Jeżeli np. za pierwszym razem dostałeś Szpon jednoręczny, a potem w trakcie gry zdobyłeś jednak więcej % dwuręcznej, to zmienia się on na dwuręczny. Dmg się zwiększa bodajże co 3 lvle, ale nie musisz tego robić równomiernie. Możesz np. grać cały czas najsłabszą wersją i na 48 lvlu pomodlić się i dostaniesz taki sam Szpon, jak gdyby modlił się co 3 lvle od początku. HP też stracisz tyle samo, więc bez różnicy.
