I bought the gothic games on gog 2 weeks ago and already finished gothic 1 twice. gothic 2 is also oretty good, but the damage calculation is horrible and incredibly feels bad man for the first 10 hours. unless you don't play melee. honestly, as a german, I didn't know that gothic is way more niche than elder scrolls, but I'm having a lot of fun with both.

its not only for seekers, you can do it to everything, like merchants too but I have G2 Golden edition and it doesnt work there, you need some older versions. To be honest I'm glad that bullshit doesnt work on mine version, its just cheating and destroying fun

You must finish it way more times to know all about it, and it is still not certain. No other game has so much curiosity in it. I finished it well over several dozen times and I am still finding new things of Gothic. I'm from Poland btw, in this country this was a hit game, so finishing it that much times in normal.

There is even a seeker with wave of death, you can find him guarding a bridge (its the one on the way to the water mages when you start from the tavern, close to the folem you have to defeat to get a fire mage) But it isnt an intended feature so dont abuse this bug too much.

Summon Goblin is also very underrated spell on 1st circle. With magic wand trick you can have an army which can deal with a troll

Another thing you can do with magic wand is to equip it, and have some better weapon in inventory, Innos Hammer is ideal. Cast transformation spell, and after that return to human form. You should notice equiped hammer...and permament +20 mana effect from wand. You can repeat this process to have absurd amount of mana

@@Maczari without any str or dex, without any weapons. gothic 2 is super easy as a mage but in NotR pure mage is difficulty insane or annoying or impossible... well you name it. have fun

@@andreasandreou1341 Yea indeed, in NotR you receive new spells that were useful in previous chapter only. Actually total endgame on Irdorath is super easy as mage, but only endgame, when you kill all mobs because of AoE spells

Works in the older version. The new versions and even the mods have a fix for that. Cuz iceblock used to do dmg over time but it was a small amount so they fix it doing 2 things. That depends on the mode. Some modes completely removed ice block dmf over time. Some removed dmg over time but increased the initial dmg. And some are pure evil. If u ice block and enemy with 100 hp it will take dmg over time untill he reaches 3 hp the the ice block will stop working. So yeah u can't do that anymore and im ok with it. It was busted and might as well use marvin to get your runes.

Most of these aren't "tips and tricks", they're full blown exploits. The only real tip you're gonna need as a mage is that summons are OP as hell.

every time you kill a seeker this way you get the stones, it is a good way to make gold cause stones sell for a lot

Is there a way to enable screenshots in Gothic 2? Like in Settings or in some directory .ini document or something? Something which would enable quick screenshots(as in not PrintScreen and then Paste into Paint, that takes too much time) and which would save screenshots automatically in the game directory or some other folder?

Well it depends on you. I continued this mage from an old saved game in which I had my strenght trained to 90 in chapter 1 as guildless, from an NPC at the "mercenary camp" (aka Onar's Farm I think). You can defently aim for dexterity and rush through chapters instead of stalling like I did.

@@oyblech8671 In NotR I've always seen dex as a very useful way of getting XP if you learn pickpocket - depends on your perspective, but imo your 10 lp investment is returned by quite a lot. At any rate, it depends on everyone's playstyle. Even if I focus on str, I tend to invest a bit in dex too just for that.

you only need magic as a mage. If u use your skillpoints to get the maximum mana a teacher can teach you whitch is 200 i think then u use the king sorel plant to perma increase your mana u can have so much mana that u can spam 4th circle spell and even cast 4-5 times in a row the wave of death. mage is actually op

@@Marius-us1tq mage is the worst class in g2, game is easy so you can pass it even as a mage but still in compare to other vocations playing mage is the hardest. Besides, you need some melle as a mage to make mission with possessed almanacs where you need to beat Vino, Malak, Bromor , Randolph etc and melee help with with the weaker creatures to not waste mana for scavengers

I might be a year late, but another neat little trick, playing as a mage, is entering the 2nd magic circle (or whatever it is called in eng) by talking to Milten in the Valley of Mines. It normally costs 10 LP in the Monastary (Parlan iirc), but Milten does it for 5. You even get a nice little different dialogue.

not really it's far more fun exploiting the game than cheating outright its something primal in it for example to cheat you just need some commands but to exploit you need specific circumstances

Nope. The only runes you can use without any requirements is the light and teleport runes. The ones you find on seekers inventory you must be mage and research the equivelant magic circle the runes belongs to.

I even regular light needs 1. Circle learned. It's only the teleportation and paladin runes that need nothing. But you only find holy light and maybe a paladin healing rune in chapter 5. I believe. But I think you have to be paladin anyway for the mob to spawn that has the rune.

You can kill anything with "destroy undead" spell if you use it or actually missuse it the way it is shown in the video. With indirect focusing without locking a name just a target.

3:00 you use fear and than summon demon? not sure why you wasted fear but demon can beat dragon himself, without any help

it takes too long because dragon has a very high life regeneration and demon has bad AI sometimes and hits slow or runs around. Fear somehow stops dragon's life regeneration so fight becomes lot faster and more controlable.

@@spacecomunication nah its not so long, duration of summoning is around 60 seconds and its twice what demon need to kill dragon, anyways it never happened to me that demon would not make it before 60 seconds ;p

This worked in G2, but not in G2 NotR. I couldn't take him down even with 3 or 4 demons at a time. He hit them few times and demons died. They are no match for the dragon.

@@zedzoony NO! I always did it in NotR of course, 1 demon is fair enough and beat dragon with 90% hp left... In g2? you just beat dragon straight away like lizard or scavenger without any problems, that obvious we speak about the expansion version. I have golden edition on steam

@@zedzoony but maybe you forgot to speak with the dragon and he was immortal hm? you have to bring charged eye of Innos, speak with the dragon AND AFTER TALK SUMMON DEMON, because dragon is immortal before the talk

I would have to disagree. You can happen upon a bug or exploit unknowingly, you might not even realize that it is one while you have to actively seek out and use cheats. Cheats are also programmed into the game intentionaly by the developers, while bugs and exploits are not

Just because you didn't enter any codes doesn't mean you can't cheat. Exploits by their very definition are about bugs and mechanics being used repeatedly in a way not indended by the developers to gain advantage.

It's different from cheat-code cheating, but at the end of the day it is still another form cheating and that's something that's been widely agreed upon. Exploits by their definition include bug-using (repeatedly using bugs to gain advantage = exploiting that bug).
