I'm just after binge-watching a bunch of your Algarve videos all morning, and I've got to say that I find your joyfulness and all-around good nature truly contagious. And it was great to see you're getting the pronunciation of those Portuguese names and words right most of the time, particularly those ending in "S" -- which should be pronounced as "Sh", as you did (particularly Samantha) and not as "Z" as many foreigners do. Kudos for that, and also for including facts of historic nature in your vlogs. I'm also impressed by Caolan's determination to sticking to the no drinking and driving rule, essential for staying out of trouble, and for not losing his cool when that phone rang (minute 10:30) just after yee leaving the Bones Chappel. It would probably have me totally freaked out, thinking it was the Jack the Reaper calling to tell me that my time was up. (I'm only joking...) Well done! Good on ya!

Ah thank you so much Miguel, such a lovely comment to receive. We are so happy that you enjoyed our videos, it means a lot to us ❤️ and thanks for all the kind words you said about us. We have a incredible time in Portugal and loved every second of it, we were treated so nice by the Portuguese people. It made our stay in Portugal a memorable one for sure ❤️ we feel we got abit better with the pronunciation as the weeks went on…😂 it’s tough for us Irish to say them right but we did our best…😃 thanks again for watching and your lovely comment 🙏

@@GoTimeTravels Nah, you did great! Some people (fewer and fewer, these days), while visiting or moving to Portugal, don't make the effort of snapping out of that acquired false premise which makes them believe that Portugal is somewhat a part of Spain and, therefore, it is OK to pronounce Portuguese words and names as if they were Spanish ones. I've used the "S" on purpose as an example because the vast majority of foreigners pronounce the "S" (plural) ending of Portuguese words as"Z", as they do it in Spain. It's always a good thing to come across people like you who make an effort and learn the proper pronunciation... and people will thank you for that and will make you feel even more at home! On that subject, perhaps you could one day visit the north of the country. You will realize, I'm sure, how different it is from the Algarve in more ways than one... All the best.

ah thank you, its nice to hear that ❤️ we will definitely visit the north of portugal some day, we are excited to see what its like up there and look forward to it....🙏🇵🇹

I really love how you take time for viewers. The way you show what your looking at, the food, so we can really experience and get a real sense of being there. Really love it! I really love hummus so the way you looked, wow. Hummus is a global fav, so I’ll have to try theirs when I’m there in September, and find out what’s up. Hahaha. I hope you stay in Portugal for awhile, your authentic and even caring adventurous approach is really cool! Thanks!!

WHAT A BIZARRE CHAPEL!! The look on both of your faces said it all 🤣 That quirky music you matched with the chapel was gold! I like how the beaches you visit in Portugal always seem to have a boardwalk. Your veggie meals looked bonkers 👌🤤 - I don’t know how you didn’t enjoy the hummus 🤣
@GoTimeTravels3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Finn, yeah the chapel was insane! I was a bit freaked out to be honest, it mental to think those were actual real people….mad! The veggie meals were actually gorgeous, the hummus however was another story, we just couldn’t take to it, we’ve had hummus before and it was nice enough, this one was not 😆😆

Cool video guys :) Don't want to be to picky but on your video description you mentioned "Isla Desserta" but "Isla" it's spanish for island and "Desserta" has an extra s, so the right way in portuguese is "Ilha Deserta" ;) Anyway GREAT video about my hometown.

Hi guys!! Really enjoying you! What is the name of the rooftop bar? this is in Faros? And also where do you suggest to stay at Faros or Algarve? Im planning to visit Portugal next month. 🌹🌹
@GoTimeTravels3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, so the rooftop bar is called the Faro hotel, we actually live in portimao so we travelled to Faro, portimao suited us because it’s the centre of the Algarve, that made it easier to explore east & west, if you are visiting algarve it would really help to rent a car, the roads are really good and you can get to a lot of places quite easy.

That's a gopro right? And what microphone do you use, if any?
@GoTimeTravels3 жыл бұрын
For our talking bits we use a canon g7x ii, we only used the GoPro for the beach scenes, the walking around Faro town segment and also the rooftop bar. All slow mo shots are done with a Panasonic gh5 and drone is a mavic air 2
@GoTimeTravels3 жыл бұрын
We just use the internal mic for both canon and go pro. We will be upgrading soon as canon is not great around windy areas.

@@GoTimeTravels would love to see more shots by GH5. Its a beast of a camera! If you throw a variable density filter on the lens you won't look so over exposed in the background and your skin tones will be true. Plus it does 4K 60 frames which is amazing! But even if you film at 1080 P 60 frames it'll look gorgeous on a 24 frame timeline. This is the time of your life right now capture it all in the best quality you can mate!

our next couple of videos have already been shot (with the G7x as our vlogging, plan to use the GH5 for any videos after that, thanks for the tips..
