My GPS indicated 13.3 mph. And you can't go faster, at least on newer models, speed is limited to their 15.5 mph. 13.3 in reality (for me anyway...my weight?). Going downhill won't help. You'll have to turn off the scooter to free the wheels. I suspect it uses regenerative braking to keep you at 15.5 (13.3). You lose some speed but gain a bit of charge to the battery, if that is correct...

@Conz - Channel no longer used. Goodbye! Recently I had a new experience. I hit 16-17 mph on a downhill. Don't know what happened. If the downhill had been longer would I have gone faster? It was just an overpass. I'm not sure what happened. On the same ride I tried accelerating on a downhill and something slowed me down. Maybe the controls slow you down then, and if you let yourself roll down nothing happens? Not sure, the controller seems fickle...

@Conz - Channel no longer used. Goodbye! It happened to me when trying to accelerate to pass a green light, and something slows me down, frustrating.

@@donl3130 Your brakes mightve been rubbing your rear rotor causing it to be a little slower. I'm 155ish and have no issues with mine hitting 15.5mph

When I got it from Amazon, it said it could go 20mph or 15.5 mph, but it only goes 15.5 mph. How can I make it faster?
