I don't think he's reading these but for anyone else curious (skip if you don't want spoilers), at one point he notices he doesn't have enough uranium to make a rod for a reactor, but do you know what he does have? A rocket platform and the materials to make a rocket that will not only multiply his heat or pressure generation, but also attract meteors with uranium or iridium in them!

@joshuamullins84456 ай бұрын
Your Big 3 multipliers (Oxygen, Pressure and Heat) are the most import things to focus on in this stage of the game; they will unlock the most stuff for you.
@varthaner46176 ай бұрын
Yeah, especially pressure untill Ore Extractor unlock (and then OE2). No pressure = you're stuck with no alu / alloy like Quill. No OE2 in Uranium cave = you power your industry with solar2 instead of nuclear.

It used to be that the T1 Biodome was the only place you could access the Biomass blueprints; right now its only advantage over the Grass Spreader is that it uses fewer Lirma Seeds for the same amount of Oxygen. Sadly deconstructing Grass Spreaders removes the grass. Oxygen notifications happen at 20 and 10 units, but of course if your tank is 280 units that's only 7% and 3½%. (Speaking of tanks, you haven't upgraded to the T4 Oxygen Tank yet.) Some of the names are indeed official in that they show up as a possible starting location, or they're mentioned in the Steam achievements, or in the patch notes. I don't remember whether they all have official names though. Generation is designed to be exponential, but the display is a little confusing as it only jumps by a factor of 1000 at a time, so it suddenly looks as if it's really slow, but at 1.75 MTi it's still probably 1000 times as fast as when it was when you had 1.75 kTi.
@MrHPlays6 ай бұрын
1.75MTi is indeed exactly 1000 times 1.75kTi. The k and M and p etc are all si unit prefixes you probably learnt about it science. Pa is pascals, the si unit of pressure, while K is Kelvin, the si unit of temperature.
@urkerab6 ай бұрын
@@MrHPlays Maybe I didn't explain myself well enough; I was trying to say that the display looks like it's ticking over slowly at 1.75 MTi but it was probably ticking at the same visual speed back at 1.75 kTi.

If you do restructure the base, I highly suggest using the 2x2 rooms over the 1x1 rooms your base is currently composed of, because they just slightly more room efficient and convenient to build in.

A bit of backseating: Go scout for aluminium. It's lying on the ground in the biome which you already visited. You got this! :)

I've seen so many people go crazy about the biomass too early. Quill is right to think of the heat, but I also believe the best way to get better heat is to unlock the next tier heaters through Oxygen generation.
@danielbudney78256 ай бұрын
Best way to get more Heat at this point is to build 3 or 4 Rockets which give +1000% Heat multiplier for each one.
@Krishnath.Dragon6 ай бұрын
@@danielbudney7825 I usually go for five of each. I go for the uranium attraction rockets first, because Uranium is the harder of the two to get on the map prior to getting mining.

I still think the #1 thing you should "between episodes" is to build a shit-ton of T1 solar panels, which I don't believe cost any aluminum. Yes, you probably need 4x as many as T2 solar panels, but for no rare materials, I would have built like 30 of them a long time ago
@Flanor6 ай бұрын
Aluminium is really not that rare, quill just refuses to look for it. Also at this stage of the game he can just build nuclear instead
@demonac6 ай бұрын
@@Flanor Isn't this literally the same video where he was like "oops, I don't have enough uranium"
@Flanor6 ай бұрын
He indeed doesn't have it in storage, but there is plenty around in chests over the map or he can build the rocket that says it will trigger a uranium meteor storm
@Trumpkin7776 ай бұрын
The time to gather the resources to make 4 little ones is better spent collecting a little aluminum for way more power output. You make a good point, but having done both ways, I suggest getting aluminum, there's plenty in the Iridium cave at the top of the hill, or the aluminum mine that was the blue area he entered, also super close.
@tellur8086 ай бұрын
I wonder when quill is going to realize that the first two rockets give a 1000% multiplier to heat and pressure. And iridium/uranium on top! GPS satellites are nice to map out PoIs but not really required yet
@MTGeomancer6 ай бұрын
He did see it when he first built it, but clearly has forgotten it. Or hasn't made the connection that it's a multiplier. It turns one heater into 10. Permanently.

@quill18 I think your getting the carriage in front of the horse, the next phase is liquid water before you grow plants, I mean logically it makes sense to have water to sustain biomass...

Rule of 10, build no more than 10 of any particular generation thing. After 10, every additional machine only contributes less than 10% of all generation. Rockets should then be used.

He goes to a ship section he's explored , gets lirma seeds and brings them back to home base to build grass spreaders. Why travel home? Why not just build around where he finds stashs of seed?
@AnotherJRB6 ай бұрын
Some people have tried that kind of strategy, but they mostly give up on it after they get more experience with the game. One of the best sources for building higher-tier machines is tearing down the earlier ones, so in the end it's more convenient to have everything nearby. For the grass spreaders, the lirma seeds in particular have more productive uses later on.
