Sabres get Dahlin. Problem solved. Powerhouse in the future. Eichel is not as good as the player the Sabres truly wanted in 2015, but Dahlin and Eichel together could be more beneficial to a team than just McDavid alone.

Noneof Yourbusiness - Eichel has 28 points in 33 games, which is good production. He can't do everything by himself at 21, especially with the worst team in east. He is a franchise player just like Matthews, Barkov or Mackinnon. McDavid is the only generational player, and even his team is likely to miss the playoffs.

I just wish that Buffalo could actually properly build around Eichel, but I feel like Arizona kind of got screwed in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Arizona desperately needed Eichel, but the ping pong balls did them no favours. Well, it is also true that Buffalo was in desperate need of Eichel, but getting McDavid would have been much better than getting Eichel. I am still glad that Edmonton got McDavid because it replaces the loss of Gretzky for them.
