Marsh Man, I have also been throwing topwater (spook jr.) for the past few days (its been overcast) and caught over 20 17-23in trout in a 30ft wide creek. Soooo much fun. Love to see the big fish are back!!!

If you think that's crowded, you are pretty spoiled fishing during the week on a random Tuesday. Try going out there on a weekend when its flat, and you can walk from boat to boat.
@dixie30878 ай бұрын
I always thought the weekday guys had it so much better and we do sometimes, but for the trestles it doesn’t matter what day it is.

Wednesday morning was incredible from 6:10 to 7:30. 45 hammers all 17” to 19.5”. One stop all on any color matrix shad except holy joely.

Great trip! Wednesday's conditions looked perfect. I shot this on Tuesday, when there was still some residual wind from that front.
@JDO-co8ne8 ай бұрын
Yeah, I figured you were there Tuesday. Tide wasn’t doing much Tuesday so I figured Wednesday and Thursday would fair better as winds would lay down and moon fall coincided with sunrise. Optimum conditions. Tide is great next few days, so once the wind settles it’ll be great again. Yes there will be lots of boats but there are thousands more trout. Just have to remain patient and courteous. 😂

@@MarshManMasson It doubled in price compared to the Ulterra, they have completely redesigned it, with a manual release if it were not raise you now can flip a lever and it will lift to stow. The GPS is part of the head unit. They are proud of it. Hope it lives up to the hype.

There should be a link in the video description. If you don't see it, just go to zstackle.com and search Zimmer Swimmer.

@marshman I'm gonna be in the market for a boat in a few months, and I was wondering how the Avid is holding up for you.
@MarshManMasson8 ай бұрын
I love the design, layout, ride and fishability of my 19XB. I've never fished out of the center-console models, but I know others who have, and they speak well of them. Not every boat is right for every angler, but you owe it to yourself to give Avid a hard look.

I got a real important question what the heck causes tip wrap a change from spider wire to powerline and now I’m constantly getting tip wrap
@MarshManMasson8 ай бұрын
It's caused from limp line getting slack in it when the rod tip is dropped. The Spiderwire was probably stiffer than the Powerline.

Do you ever catch grouper around the pilings?
@dixie30878 ай бұрын
I’ve never heard of that happening on these bridges. The lake is almost freshwater most of the year. Maybe pre MRGO closure.
@MarshManMasson8 ай бұрын
No. Salinity levels are too low. The nearest inshore I've ever seen grouper caught is about a decade ago, I was fishing the SW Pass rocks with Brian Latimer, and we landed four keeper-sized grouper. I went crazy when he caught the first, and told him it was the catch of a lifetime. I've covered outdoors in Louisiana my entire adult life, and had never heard of grouper being caught at SW Pass. We ended up catching three more, proving crazy things happen every day on the water.

I’m gunna disagree with wt u say about m vs mh shakin the hook ! You lose more trout with a xtra fast tip ! The tip is more important than the back bone ! So med / medheavy moderate is better
