Truth is Diane Giacalone was so gung ho on getting Gotti she just wouldn't listen to the FBI who told her it's a weak case. And yes exposing Willie Boy Johnson got him killed.

Why the fuck would she disclose that in front of Gotti?

Because she was so Gung Ho in trying to nail Gotti she didn't think about the consequences of exposing a Mob witness while they were not yet in Federal custody.

In this court scene Travolta captures some of John Gotti's court mannerism (body movement and facial expressions). In spite of the bad criticism that Gotti has received from film critics at Cannes, I can't wait to see this movie.

Armand Assante played a great Gotti.John Travolta?Ehhh he wasn't bad
@68ElPadrino6 жыл бұрын
He was tailor made for the role of John Gotti. Armand Assante was amazing but Travolta looks the part n embodied this role with an iron fist. I can't wait.
@Raydaniels16 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. Armand Assante did an incredible job as Gotti. However, I believe that Travolta looks more like Gotti than Assante. I saw a facial of John Travolta and Gotti side by side each other under google images and the the resemblance between the two was quite remarkable.
@68ElPadrino6 жыл бұрын
Ray Daniels exactly. I saw the movie & this is the best portrayal of who Gotti really was & in that manner, Travolta nailed it. The 96 version had Gotti being too Shakespearish giving speeches & what not. In that manner, Armond nailed it but when it came to authenticity, he just didn't have it. Tom Sizamore was the worst Gotti portrayal in "Witness To The Mob". Danny Nucci from Titanic did a pretty good job as Young John Gotti in "Sinatra Club" but the best portrayal to me is by Travolta. When I first heard he was playing Gotti, I thought he was gonna blow it but I was dead wrong. He put the nail in the coffin. The movie however wasn't as good as I thought it was gonna be simply cuz it's too short & they left a lot of things out. I blame that on the budget & the crew not shooting it completely in New York City. I never understood it cuz they filmed the 96 version completely in NYC but not the big screen version? The 96 version was good storyline wise. I feel like this movie is the deleted scenes of that movie lol but I give this movie a 7/10 but give Travolta a 10/10. Hands down. 👍

@@68ElPadrino thank you for the truth.... im in the minority here and im suffice to say that travolta nailed the real life arrogant lowlife scumbag he really was. he aint not arman assante cuz thats a different version and HBO gave him a very intelligent portrayal when in reality hes far from it. people need to hear this a lot and not to judge it by the razzies.
@R49_Complete Жыл бұрын
Yes Travolta was great but this was a terrible movie that was clearly written by younger writers who had no idea how to portray the 1970s-1990s in New York City.
