I've kind of felt that he made it terrible on purpose (any logical person would know his choices were dumb, but he seemed to be motivated by contempt for the audience that embraced both character and film), but given that he sucks at making sequels, two things can be true at the same time. So, I must conclude that the best film he ever made was a fluke and/or he hates his audience.

I noticed that the first time, and it genuinely freaked me out in a way, because it shows how much more of a realistic "crazy" person he is. When you think of "mental problems" and joker, you think of most other versions, like the batman under the red hood version of joker. But this is just a version that has mental problems, but in a more realistic manor, so it makes sense why he'd consider, for just a moment, killing himself. I don't know if any of that made any sense, I'm kinda tired, lol.
