I have played WoW and ESO a lot but this game feels like more complex when you look from outside. I read whole game manual and watched this video. Feeling like learned basic stuff at least. Thanks for sharing your great knowladge. I'm just starting the game now.

I always like to suggest ranger as a first character for learning how to play the game because; -They're a core class, no expense. -Can try melee & ranged fighting styles with the feats provided for both inherently -fighting style feats being autogrants makes building a character much easier, it takes deliberate effort & aggressively ignoring in game info to make one that's genuinely bad rather than just unoptimised. -they have some spells to learn how to use buffs, healing, curatives etc. but not too many so people don't get overwhelmed -while good for beginners because of the above, they're overall solid too -arcane archer has solid crowd control through paralysing arrows, so even undergeared they can make a valuable & visible (hey, enemies can't fight back, thanks ranger!) contribution to playing with a group, even if the ranger player isn't getting all the kills.

20:40 I definitely agree that fair is an incorrect assessment of the solo ability of warlocks. They may not be the most defensive class (although the ES tree helps), but if you kill everything before they have a chance to hit you, it doesn't really matter.

I am playing this game for 2 days, 2 days ago I made Paladin, but I always liked to play Dwarf Arms Warrior in WoW and some people told me to play another combo. After 10 years of playing WoW, I wanted to move another MMORPG and I am glad that I did and choose DDO. I am playing now as my beloved Dwarf Barbarian and I realy realy like it. I didn't EVEN THINK ABOUT that Barbarians can heal themselfs when slaying an enemy and that is realy OP. I am now level 2, just reached 2nd city(Stormreach or something like that) and I am so excited to be honest!

Regarding alchemist as a specialist, besides the "need more space" point you make, it's worth noting that the Alchemist in pen and paper is just an Artificer specialization. So they may have wanted to put it with Artificer for that reason as well.
@Strimtom3 жыл бұрын
This alchemist is actually very heavily based off of the pathfinder alchemist more than 5e alchemist. Especially given this class released before 5e officially released artificer. Still, it makes me wonder about what other abilities alchemist may have had that got cut while still leaving it in specialist.

These guides to class and race selection are interesting, but do you know of a "beginner basics" video that describes actual gameplay for a DDO first-timer, e.g. "Here's how you target an enemy and start auto-attacking it"?

Melee classes are definitely one of the better choices. Melee is just more fast and efficient in my experience. Paladin is even better since you can use healing spells. Ranger is arguably the weakest class imo. Using a normal bow or crossbow just isn't efficient enough and the enemies are going to be in your face before you can do significant damage. Rogue is very convenient but is weak like ranger. Artificer on the other hand can get rid of enemies very efficiently with repeating crossbows. And most spell-casting classes are just really good lol.

Does it matter as long as that class can self heal? Don't rely on either other players who may or may not be online when you are, and don't rely on hirelings for self healing either. Every class can self heal at some point, but only a few can self heal straight from the start. My advice also, would be to invest in at least one Iconic. That way, you can always start at 15th level. The Bladeforged is really popular and very versatile.

how do you turn undead and use negative energy to heal as a necromancer?
@Strimtom Жыл бұрын
Necromancers don't turn undead, and they can't heal until they get level 4 spells at wizard level 7. This is why a lot of people wait before full commiting to undead forms.

this is a true starting guide for ddo, start playing a different game or get a second job to pay for this one or have some friend to join with you that will only play the same times you do, at it core its a good game but its not new player friendly and its not likely you will find new friends in the game . there doesnt seem to be much of an end game now days its just leveling, in which its all dungeons which they do very well and they do have a mode to make this more challenging, but like i said its not new player friendly the bulk of the player base is old players and you really can not compete with there power level and you really have to put of some hard cash to be able to at there level and usefulness with in a year(longer if you like being a tank) for those that played wow from classic its like being at 60 with the talents at that stage running mc while everyone else is lv 80 in full icc gear and there talents for that stage like you might as well put your self on follow and go get a drink

What is positive spellpower? if i use burning hands for wizard is considered positive spell power? stacks with universal and other types of elemental spell power? where can i see my total spellpower?
@eugenelim112 жыл бұрын
positive spell power is for clerics/favor souls that use positive spells e.g. searing light. No. Burning hands use fire spell power. Yes. It stacks with universal spell power. No, it does NOT stack with elemental spell power. In your character sheet.
@Kayem237 Жыл бұрын
Positive spell power is for positive energy spells, mostly heals, but many heals do damage to undead. It will not increase the damage of searing light. Searing light uses Light spell power.

*Even with dated graphics, the game play of **_D&DO_** is great, and withstands the test of time, that lesser games, like **_Istaria_** failed to do. Though to be honest, **_Istaria_** has only a volunteer base of Devs that keep it alive, and not the mega bucks that **_Turbine_** has*

Hello, He mentioned something about wizard and rogue build. I am not sure how to build that. Can anyone please direct me where I can find the step by step build? I would really like to play casters that can turn undead, and to be able to do traps. Much appreciated. Thank you!
@denewst013 жыл бұрын
The most basic approach for it is to have 2 levels of rogue (take it at level 1 then the 2nd rogue level around level 9) to get evasion & take the insightful reflexes feat to get your INT stat for reflex saves so you don't have to worry much about DEX.. self healing via either pale master tree & negative energy for undead form, being a dragonmarked halfling (the hardest option) or be a warforged & use repair spells. Your spells won't be quite as effective but they're still very solid.
@danicap65113 жыл бұрын
@@denewst01 hello, thank you! I have a f2p account, so I am taking a halfling class?
@denewst013 жыл бұрын
Halflings are fun :) the dragonmark is a specific ability that certain races get, though it requires a feat investment & APs spent in the racial tree so while it works & would let you get away with not using undead form for your self healing, it has it's own requirements - I'd recommend with sticking with pale master for simplicity's sake. There are proper builds available on the forums, but one of the first things to think about is how you're going to play - are you going to be primarily casting spells, or going the eldritch knight route & being a more melee/caster hybrid (EK are solid, but being in close combat has it's risks). From there I can likely advise better.
@danicap65113 жыл бұрын
@@denewst01 I would try out your recommendation, but I am not sure how I would really build that as I am new to this types of games. I've been doing ranger builds all these times, and casting is a new start for me. I would like being able to solo most of the time, so healing and trappings are what I usually want to focus on. Close combat is not usually my style, but it's something I'm willing to try. Thank you for your response! Really much appreciated it! :))
