The all new Gotway M Super Pro has arrived. But is it really Pro?!? I was able to live with & test the new Gotway M Super Pro electric unicycle for a few weeks! It's such a powerful electric unicycle and is this years upgrade to the previously loved Gotway MSX. Here I give my honest feedback on the new EUC. If you ride EUC will you buy one of these? Let me know in the comments.

@@DEFACTO9 you shouldn't be in traffic. Empty streets, sure, but mixed in with cars? If you are, then we're going to start needing these things registered with the DMV and insurance will be required. Please don't do that if you can avoid it. Stay in the bike lane or on sidewalks when there aren't any bike lanes. These aren't street legal vehicles. Bikes shouldn't be in traffic with cars either, except for the turn lanes or where bike lanes aren't available. You don't need to keep up with traffic. That's how you hit a bump, fall off, and get run over causing the driver behind you to face criminal and manslaughter charges.

I feel like Range is always at the forefront of most peoples minds when they think about EVs. Teslas and other electric cars are always judged by whether or not you're going to end up on the side of the road begging for an outlet. As for the MSX I agree about the over use of Pro, but I think they're just trying to buzzword people into a new wheel because they release a new revision every 6 months and it can cause market burnout. They slap a couple of speakers on, squeeze a bit more power out at some place along the graph, and hope that it keeps the money flowing in so they can make another wheel with maybe a more efficient motor or another battery upgrade that _will_ be someone's next goal... Maybe something that'll hit 40-45 before the end of the year. Possible... still that seems a _little_ nuts. That'd be starting to hit speeds where you'd want to have a manual break lever or an ejection seat.
@Rasputin.Bogard
@Rasputin.Bogard 4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Any faster than 70-80km/h and we'll have reached the point where the overwhelming majority of protective gear will still not protect you from breaking bones including your spine, nerve damage from the initial hit etc. People will still buy a wheel faster than that and that's cool with me. There are too many of us and i think we should natural selection run its course. 😉 We'll lose some people who aren't too bright and the ones that do make it deserve to breed as they likely have superior genetic skill and some sort of preternatural luck....
@OWGAC
@OWGAC 4 жыл бұрын
@@Rasputin.Bogard I do not believe that is the case, 80kph is practically pedestrian speed even for someone on a 250cc motorcycle and full leather race suits are build for speed way higher than that. There had been a few full speed cut out crash here in NYC but with proper motorcycle protection there had been no permenant damage yet, likely not the case if you push a motorcycle to it's limit and crash
@Rasputin.Bogard
@Rasputin.Bogard 4 жыл бұрын
@@OWGAC Hi Hsiang. Have you fallen off a motorbike >80km/h? I have. And you get hurt no matter what you are wearing. You may not die, though you may, but you still break stuff which was my point. Your comparison is flawed as you are stating full leather race suits. How many people do you think ride with full racing suits on when riding a motorbike? Not a leather jacket and some leather pants but a proper expensive racing suit with impact resistance and cushioning? Not many. And similarly people will ride with a helmet, some pads and guards when using their Wheel. Not many will gear up like in a $1000 plus racing suit covered head to toe in Kevlar with carbon fiber rods to prevent spinal injuries.. So if they crash at very high speeds injuries will occur. Let alone for nearby pedestrians. You need to remember that motorbikes are limited to the road. generally a good surface with at least a marginal separation from the machine to pedestrians. These Wheels can go anywhere and one could crash at these speeds literally anywhere on solid ground and you end up wrapped around anything... I'm not sure what you mean by motorbikes crashing at top speed. Obviously they can go many times faster. Not comparable really. And i wasn't talking about current Wheel crashes. As per the topic i was talking about Wheels going much faster. We have no evidence yet for that situation. But we do know that with greater speed comes less reaction times and greater breaking distances which in and of itself creates a situation with greater risk. I concede that if you do have a racing suit and you do ride on surfaces with room to slide, at least for a bit, before hitting something like riding on a road, you would be less likely seriously to injure yourself or others. But we also know from the copious amounts of data available that motorcycles are more dangerous than cars. Across the board. Why? Less protection. At the same speeds. And also that greater speeds equal greater injuries and fatalities in ALL road transportation vehicles. So my question would be, why would Wheels be any different?

evX Your videos are just amazing. As I am learning more about EUC’s (shopping for my first one) I look forward to new videos like yours. Your take on the MSP was very helpful. Great job! To answer your question; Give me range, and give me power over hills any day over more speed. Just so long the speed does not drop below 30mph. Having a wheel that can tackle some hills with little to no struggle is very important when considering a solid safe ride that will get you from point A to point B. Many cities have hill areas. Having a powerful enough Electric personal vehicle that can get you up them with confidence is important. Speed is a great thing. For a commuter, knowing that you have both range and the ability to go anywhere is just a little more than just a a “nice to have”, especially if you can tackle any road at any distance going 30mph.

Hell yeah, what an awesome time to be alive! I swear the community needs to nominate you, and your cast for a SAG award. This was a terrific film. You had VT -aka-The Stig(Top Gear), and Chris -aka-The Professor Xavier(X-MEN). What else could a wheel fan ask for? Great job fellas! I will leave all of the number crunching for the experts in the community, but this wheel seems to be an answer to the King Song 16x. I don’t think there was any intention of Gotway to excite it’s base. In fact, if you ask me, Marty created this wheel. Yep, blame Marty, lol! He’s the one challenging who ever dares to climb those death hills in Cali with their wheels. Seriously, the specs, and it’s ability says it all. It is lacking in speed like a 16x, and has the ability to climb Mount Everest. It’s also competitively priced against the 16x. It is my theory that Gotway wanted to exhibit it has a first rate R&D department that can create a wheel for those who still hate on Gotways. When I think of it, this wheel might be for DUF, lol. Again, I don’t believe this wheel is for the Gotway fanatics. I think it’s a shot at King Song. They want to let them know that they are here to compete. Oh yeah, I also agree that a 126v version of this wheel is under development, and I will keep my piggy bank intact until it is released. I almost forgot EV, but what material are your shirts made out of(I have sensitive skin)? PEACE

I feel like it’s called “Pro” because of the added features the MSX lacked - speakers, cut-off button, brighter headlights, stronger motor. Performance wise, it doesn’t seem to be on par with MSX 100v, but I agree this could be the new starter lineup of the past 84v wheels. Maybe they want to just use the word “Pro” for new MSuper models. Maybe the 126v will be called “Pro Elite” or something, lol. Great video man! Worth the wait.

Great vid! In my honest opinion, "Pro" means top of the line! That means in speed, quality, and range. It just adds figures with nothing new, exciting, or better in performance and quality.

Looking forward to all the new wheels this year. But this one... i do not find exciting at all. I think they made a mistake here. I prefer a speed above 40km/h and above 50km/h i dont care tbh, but after the 40km/h speed has been met then range is king. I want to ride for 50km. Have lunch then ride 50km home. All near max speed levels. Thats the perfect wheel for me. That's why the 16X is so popular IMO. I love your content its well thought out, interesting and and logical. Thanks!

Not even a replacement for my 84v MSX, which almost hits 40mph (63kmh) weighing 68kg. The torque would have to be mind blowing to even start thinking of upgrading. Find it also pretty dangerous to be able to accelerate much faster but reach the max speed right away, having to almost break to leave the danger zone. I understand that speed might not be an issue for most riders but when speaking of the MSX, speed absolutely is the deal breaker. It is about being able to cruise "safely" 45mph. Not the case.

Yeah I was so majorly bummed when I heard the MSX pro was slower then the MSX 100v As to ur question about speed vs range. Both is almost equally important to me. I like to ride aggressive at 35+ mph and would like a wheel that hits 55 so I can go 45 comfortably. But when I know it’s going to be a long ride I will go slower for the range. I guess speed is a little bit more important for me but I also hate range anxiety so idk.

I reckon it's just another horse in the stable. Overheating thing will be difficult. For those who live in a warm climate and want torque for acceleration up hills and off-road this looks like a good thing. Also not everyone has the MSX 100v. Some people are going from a small entry level wheel and will want something fast enough that is not likely to cut out ever under 30mph. Heavy guy who wants to do jumps at the Skate Park probably can aka Chritofantom? I can't remember the name. This would be the wheel for him. What about the brakes? This would be epic for pulling up in hurry. Speakers look passive. So they're like a skin. Even if damaged still going work just sounds better than a solid case.

For me, this is my perfect "serious" wheel. I'm currently on my starter wheel, a KS14s and my biggest grip that im having is lack of range, speed, and pedal height. I was doing some offroad when my pedal on my 14s clipped a potruding rock which introduced me to the ground so I realized my next wheel requirement was higher pedals so essentially either the 16x or MSX and this pro version couldn't have came out at a better time for me.

Hey Mickey👋, what's good! So I went with your suggestion and purchased an 18 inch msp pro. I went with the high torque thinking it would have faster acceleration. But this thing is sluggish in comparison to my Tesla v2. Is it a mode setting thing or is it because it's heavier? Please help! Thanks man👍
@evXNYC
@evXNYC 3 жыл бұрын
The high torque has a lot of power off the line. But you’ll need good power pads and technique to access it. You may also want to try soft mode. That’s my preference. Also get some v2 Clark pads for it, if you don’t already have good power pads.
@kevink2765
@kevink2765 3 жыл бұрын
Yea man, I purchased the original power pads with the unit. Just can't access the power I thought it would have. It feels like I'm always fighting the pro to lean into turns, while the Tesla does what I tell it. Which is expected from watching your previous vlogs. Almost think I'd rather the Nichola as an upgrade
@evXNYC
@evXNYC 3 жыл бұрын
No, just give it time. 18” is king. Also try soft mode. Personally i hate the v1 pads. You need room for your legs to move. I’d try the v2 if you can. But ride soft mode for a week and see how it feels.

Mate top speed depends on your weight and wind conditions on these things. There is no 'top speed'. There is simply as fast as YOU can go without that particular wheel cutting out. That's why you practice the wheel like a demon before going these speeds. The pick up test is the theoretical max speed. Simple. Any additional weight from 10 grams to 100 kilograms will slow the wheel down in a generally linear fashion. A 10 year old 25 kg skillful kid will go faster than 40 due to the weight and lower wind resistance.
@themystx2
@themystx2 4 жыл бұрын

@@themystx2 oh i agree with you. Theoretical is one thing. Reality is another. NYC (and almost all riding areas apart from specific engineered surfaces) contains enough random elements that a small unexpected event and U-Stride may never have ridden again.

I like it Mickey except for those speakers, I think the location is totally wrong, if your only using 2 speakers they should have put one on each side, cuz it will look & sounds better, and Im with you on the kill switch get rid of that. along with the rainbow lighting & let the rider arrange a light pattern to his or her liking. I do like the duel head lamps though, but to rate in 2nd between the 84volt & 100 volt MSX just isn't making the grade as I thought it would being a Pro. Being a former owner of an MSX that had continuous warped tire issues. I was hoping the MSX Pro would sway me back to Gotway, but truthfully its not that impressive, but if were better balanced cosmetically I might be willing to give it a try. Good video Mickey. 😜👍

It most definitely will work with the MSP. The cut off switch is designed to work at less than 1mph and no tire rotation. So it won’t affect it while riding. However if you were still worried you can use an exacto knife to cut out under the seat where the switch would touch it. But we’ve done tests and that’s really not even necessary. Happy riding!

Hmm.. The difference between riding styles from me compared to this guy.. is i tend to go up extreme hills out in the bush... take 6-12 foot drops... and run in heavy mud... and rough dirt roads up here in BC. Canada ... like .. i live in a valley.. and ride up mountains to repeater towers everyday.. so i would need some torque going up 50-70 degree hills.. like my old wheel has done. Two of my major concerns with this wheel was ... overheating when pushed to the limit... which i heard is good for this EUC... and torgue for going .. and getting started on very steep inclines. Seems like it should work out well.... still waiting on this wheel to get here.. since the V11 and KS S18 just dont have the power for up where im at.. sadly.. since the suspension seemed pretty cool. >.>

You are crazy for wanting a wheel that can reach 50 mph. You know the square law applies here, twice as much speed equals fours times as much energy, you have got to loose to bring you to a stand still. OK all to their own, but that is fast on a wheel for the most battle hardened veteran. Meanwhile that extra torgue has got to be a good thing on a 19" wheel, acceleration, braking, climbs. Off road that's going to cope with viscous holes and bumps. Besides at 37mph I would think you would feel safer on this wheel than 42mph on a MSX.......... 42mph are you crazy. Anyway if they do bring out a M Super Pro+ I bet there are plenty that would buy it - not me you understand, I like my skin attached to my body.

1. Rotation per Volt? :-) 2. 26% higher voltage doesnt mean 26% higher speed pkus voltage is not the only factor. Wind resistance and friction doesn't increase linear with speed. Thanks for review though 3. Range and speed are contra indicative. The faster you ride, the less range you get. That doesn't mean a fast wheel has less rsnge. Battery sets the range majorly (of course motor efficience and break torque charging affects too but not as much)
