Of all the knife makers I've seen on KZbin, the cleanliness of your workshop makes my OCD so happy. All the other shops are so messy, yet is yours is so prestige and organised, as well as super clean. Not to mention, your knives have super nice designs too!

What is the temperature you set the griddle at? How long do you let the kydex sit (cool down) before you take it out of the foam press. Thanks brother.

+SLAVIK TELY Hey mate! I set the griddle at around 350ºF, then I wait for the Kydex to heat to 290ºF before putting it in the press. I leave it in the press for around 5 minutes, then take it out to finish cooling.

I sailed a merchant ship to Antarctica in 2015. We brought in supplies for the base and took back trash and ice core samples. I'm guessing it was around the same time you made this knife. Your shop is amazingly clean & organized.

@@GoughCustom We left Port Hueneme, California and proceeded to Lyttleton, New Zealand before heading to Mcmurdo Station in Antarctica. I don't remember the exact dates, but I think it was about 3 months round trip, including our time spent in ports. Kiwis were super nice people! I had the best rack of lamb ever in Christchurch.

Your designs are deceptively simple in looks. But it’s the extreme attention to detail, metallurgy and craftsmanship that make them so. I’m totally in awe man!! And I love the satin finish on the blades. Yes - a mirror finish might look good to a lot of people, but use the knife a few times and the mirror soon gets scratches and scuffs. Give me satin any day.

+kevin reaveu Hey Kevin! If you check out my steel testing video I have links in the video description that outline all the heat-treatments that I used. The one I use for A2 is 'A2 ver. 1'

You say thanks for watching! What I say is what a privilege to watch you! Utter perfection in everything a real pleasure to watch a real master at work? Also see good to see people such as yourself working to incredibly high standards. What an example to the young If I may be so bold Sir may I ask where you learn the art of hand made knives. A truly exceptional video please think this it was worth the 4 days editing for people like me. Many many thanks once again The way the knife clipped into the holster at the end! You won't believe it but my hackles stood up !!!

Wow, you've come a long way since I watched your video about how to sharpen a knife using the Lansky system. I still use that video as a reference when anyone asks me about sharpening.

Hey Tony! I used the Lansky in this video, but it's not a part of my current process, i just takes too long given that I'm making more knives these days! If you check out my newer videos you'll see the custom powered sharpening system that I built!
