Thank you, Marin! What do you think about Michael Kunibert gouging machine ? And which is different between RnS
@BeyondOboe Жыл бұрын
The Kunibert machines are the most superior, the one I use is very similar. I had the chance to test it and found it very sufficient for me so I got it. The reeds'n stuff machine is a bit simple to change knifes and adjust thickness of the sides. If I had to buy I new one I would probably go for the Kunibert one. You won't go wrong.

Coud you please help me to understand which is different between Michael 9.5-10.5 and 10-10.9 "passin" ? How understand which is will be more usefull , if I prefer cane 10.5-11 and close reeds 🤔
@BeyondOboe Жыл бұрын
@@vlad1slavfedorov if you prefer 10.5 - mm cane you can either get 10.5mm bed or 11mm bed. I use 10.5 and basically both machines have the same specifications and will give you similar results. Like I said It's a matter of preference which brand you will get. I use the passin model but generally speaking Michel has a bigger reputation but you won't go wrong with either I think.

Excellent video! I’m making reeds right now….I make reeds for a living in the American state of Texas.

Very happy you found it useful.

Could you please clarify for me if it’s smaller or larger diameter makes more open reeds, you said both makes closed reeds
@BeyondOboe Жыл бұрын
Yes, smaller diameter will result in a slightly different opening probably a bit more open but I would say other aspects influence the opening more like how you tie on, shape, tube and most of all how thick are the sides compared to the center.

Splitting the cane with an arrow you can see really pretty well where you are in the sections of the tube. Don't play any more due to visual impairment and can't make my reeds any more but still have all my feed making equipment.
@BeyondOboe Жыл бұрын
Yes, the arrow is a great tool! I am sorry to hear that you are not able to make reeds anymore.

What are your opinions on plastic reeds? You could do a video talking about them
@BeyondOboe4 жыл бұрын
The Legere plastic reeds are OK, far from good ones made from wood. Really can't consider them for serous playing but they kind of work OK. They are just poorly made, if they would make them with better quality, good staple and a better shape it could be something. I might make a video at some point, nice idea!
