Gourdlandia Is Truly a Gourd Place to Be | Gastro Obscura

How do you define Gourdlandia as a place? Well. Located in Ithaca, NY, Gourdlandia is part farm, part art studio, and part workshop. Graham Ottoson, known as the “Gourd Lady”, is the gourd artist at the helm of this wondrous garden, and has dedicated her life to growing and transforming gourds into staggering pieces of art. Watch the full video as Dylan Thuras heads to Gourdlandia to immerse himself in the sheer delight that makes up the art center, and keep watching to see gourd marionettes, gourd masks, and of course, gourd lamps. I have a friend who is an artist of many talents. She has made gourd pieces including an aproned open topped piece where we store our wooden cooking tools . we also have a wonderful gourd container with leaves made of gourds.

Just looked this place up it is next to an Eco village. Looks like a really cool place thanks for sharing! Edit: I just noticed I have 2 places near that pinned on my google earth. Buttermilk Falls state park and Watkins Glen Gorge.

I can't speak for the other places, Watkins Glen State Park is so beautiful. I loved walking through the trails of rock and all. Although it was about 35 years ago. I doubt that it has changed much.
