I decided to make this wine purely from my love of fermented foods and my desire to keep things simple. It’s made with one and only ingredient-red wine pinot noir grapes.
Watch other fermented food videos: Pineapple Vinegar • Pineapple Vinegar
Brown Rice Vinegar • Brown Rice Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar
I highly encourage you to repurpose and use what you already have. If you can’t, try to look at garage sales and second-hand stores first. If you still can't find something and need to order it online. Here is the link to my Amazon Storefront where you might find what you need.

When I was 13, I heard my mother talking about wine she an her colleagues made, so after questioning her about the process, I took a pint jar of grape juice and kept it under my bed, i strained it couple times and add some sugar each time. After about 22 weeks it was ready. My cousin and I were afraid to taste it, so I took it to my mom. She asked where did we get it. I confess that I made it. It was a sweet heavy dessert type wine. Everyone liked it, so I continued to make more every Christmas and became know as “the little ole winemaker.”😂

Make a grape press with 3 buckets, it's really easy and you can use your whole weight to press the grape (or flat stones). One bucket to receive the juice, one bucket to act as a strainer (drill holes) and one bucket to press on the grape (can be filled with stones or water for increased weight). It was very simple and easy, and I got most of the juice out of the grapes. Loved the video, very relaxing to watch !

Thank you so much for this video! I was getting discouraged seeing so many videos say things like "You need camden pills, sulfites, etc!" And I was thinking to myself that wine has been made for thousands of years without all that stuff. This video made the process look very simple and easily affordable, and I really do appreciate natural things. 💜

Yes, this method of making wine is my own preference. It goes through the same fermentation, racking and bottling. I just don't add any yeast or sulfites to it. I started to experiment on fermenting my foods about 10 years ago when I happened to learn about phytic acid. After seeing good results in my own and my family health, fermenting has become a big part of my cooking. Thank you for the idea of an FAQ video, I might do it someday. In the mean time, you can read about myself at the about page on my website. Thank you so much for watching my videos!

For the small quantities you produce, you can replace the press with a potato masher. You used very high quality grapes and I have the impression that you did not need sodium bisulphite but know that, depending on many factors (temperature, quality of the grapes, less cleanliness) bisulphite is also used in the initial phases after the first pressing. Sometimes it is better to use bisulfite immediately and add selected yeasts

When filling thin neck bottles , use a funnel with a big opening at the cone mouth and place your siphon in the hole , now when filling the bottles , pick up the empty bottle with left hand to the funnel and right hand do the shifting , then you have less spill the n place the filling bottle down to free your hand for the nixt empty bottle repeat the process ❤ happy wine making , to speed up the fermenting process blend the raw grapes but you will end up with more pulp, either way you have to squeeze it bone dry, i love wine making too ❤

I came to your channel to compare and contrast loumouth obnoxious vegan / vegetarian hair thickness and body, and actual body composition, but I was met with only hands, which did look vegetarian. The I realized I was wasting my time because 100% grape juice bought in a store, yeast and sugar could make equally as tasty wine, in less time, and for less money, imagine my surprise to discover I could do it this way, waste time and money only to have the same product minus about 1% of depth of flavor!

I have a question, in the video you mentioned that on days 6-7 the fermentation had slowed down and most of the grapes sank. Is that a good indicator of it being ready for the next stage? I am on day 5 right now and I am waiting to see how long it takes to reach that stage.

How does your wine differ with ones made with adding yeast and other things such as tannins? By the way, this video is amazing. Keep up the work!

I don't usually drink wine as I don't like the taste and smell of it. I really enjoy mine, it doesn't smell the same as most wine with sulfites and the taste is so fresh.Thank you so much for watching my video!

The grapes have a coating of yeast on them already, so fermentation begins automatically upon crushing them. The tannins and 'other things' are mixed into the stems, which is why you want to ferment the entire cluster (bunch), not just the individual grapes.

@@mrc4912 It's actually not yeast although everyone says that. Lactic acid bacteria is what accomplishes it and that is an antifungal... yeast is a fungus. It's the opposite of yeast.
@quinton50h
@quinton50h Жыл бұрын
it is in fact yeast even if it is not only yeast. Yeast is a naturally occurring organism and it's on everything. You cannot make wine without yeast. Yeast is what makes alcohol as well as carbon dioxide. Also, there are no sulfites but there sulfites. Sulfites occur naturally in the wine making process. @@JONATHANTABLER

Thanks for sharing. I have an isabella grape vine on my property. I hate the taste of the grapes, but the wine is the best alcohol beverage out there. Guess i'll attempt making some wine when the grapes ripe.

No, I don't have any books released. Most of my cooking is very simple, it doesn't require a lot of measuring and you can do the same without any recipes.

Depends. Were they sprayed with anything? I would think introducing yeast gives you more control over the outcome. But then I'm not trying to produce a commercial product.
