Gov. Kristi Noem says "I want the truth to be out there" after viral story of killing her dog

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem tells "Face the Nation" that her forthcoming book has been "edited" after her claim about meeting Kim Jong Un turned out to be false. She also said that she shared a story about killing her 14-month-old dog Cricket because "I want the truth to be out there."

The real version of the story goes - she was hunting with a group of other politicians and brought her untrained dog along to "learn from" the trained hunting dogs. Well, Cricket didn't pick up bird hunting on that trip and chased away lots of birds then attacked 2 chickens after just being taught to go after birds. In front of everyone, out of a fit of rage, she dragged the dog to the gravel pit and shot it in its face. Then she went after the next closest animal and shot it, her kid's goat. She wrote the "nice" version in the book and tries to justify it, because she knew the verfified story would come out nationally if she ran with trump. So, she felt she needed to get ahead of the story, for obvious reasons.

Wow. As a Republican and admirer of South Dakota, I am shocked by Kristi Noem's interview. The real question revealed here is a question of judgement. Why would any right thinking person ever tell this story to another person. Let alone put the story in print. The issue is Kristi Noem's judgement. I think any fair minded person of either political party would find the Governor's judgement wanting. "Commander meet Cricket?" Offensive and disgusting.
