I know him personally and this has been a long battle for the tribe. I am SO glad to see these rights restored. It's ludicrous that the Feds should have regulated something like eagle feathers when those same people have no problem with the burning of the American flag or removing monuments, etc. of reference to God. Whenever there is more gov't meddling, the more things get messed up. I am so happy for you, Robert.

Jerry Goler Oh Pu-leaZ~ *"looks the other way"* - *"as THOUSANDS"* are *"killed by wind generators" augh~!* In the first place, *_Eagles are not that stupid._* Certainly, an occasional one may well find themselves slapped to the planet from some, man-made apparatus or another, but please, give them some credit for the awesome, intelligent, creatures they most certainly are. You make it sound like they're, "daily" having to war with windmills? And by the way, if I can keep the very same birds out of my orchards and other crops with a 5 dollar radio, I'm pretty sure no one's trying too hard to deal with this "supposed" _"crisis."_ Do you also fight for the "rights" of woodlice - to not be smashed by diverse manmade items dropped on the ground? I only cringe at this kind of thinking because it so - plays into the democrat-communist party ideological ERRORS and blatant disregards of sanity and inherent reality. It's no different than their communist rhetoric claims such as: "republicans hate and stigmatize 'gays' because they don't want to pass laws forcing taxpayers to buy them free anal lube" - "for the FALSIFIED purpose of reducing the 'gays' AIDS plague." We no more fight the plight of the poor apparently "stupid and helpless eagles" from running into things - including trees - because, (sanity and reality) dictate, "eagles [like all birds] run into things, manmade and otherwise" - than we do, fight for people who refuse to be normal and see no difference betwixt a female vagina and the human sewage portal - because, we could cough up a barrel of anal lube to each one, and the only thing that WILL (and has) happen is, the 'gay plague will explode even more than it already is." In short, eagles will be eagles, so called, "gays" will never change their ways, much less, be happy, e.g. - *_GAY?_*

Jasper Williams yes there is a couple of eagles being killed by wind turbines. Alot of time they don't see the fast propellers moving and they get hit while flying. But it's more common for eagles to get killed by cars, pollution, pesticides, ect. One more thing. So u were disappointed by that video of my those Indians, my friends having a powwow in a gym? I know almost every single one of those people. That our culture. It's ceromony, and social at the same time. But Jesus did most of his preaching out side, so did Buduh, and Muhammad. And those religion's are indoors these days. I guss you're a wannabe, and like to see that action outside. This isn't the 1800's
@jasperwilliams31549 жыл бұрын
Joseph littlehawk Now, now, Joseph, don't be offended that there's still some of us old timers out there who appreciate historic accuracy etc., when historic accuracy is being represented in ceremonies like the on in this video? I didn't throw an immature fit about it, I merely mentioned I was disappointed it has to be this way. Because I understand completely that it does indeed *have* to be this way, because, had you tried to get this many "modern" people interested and gathered somewhere 40 miles out of town, you'd probably not garnered such a great turnout. | e.g. too far away from fast fake food, ninetendos and cell phone tower reception? I am happy to see you were able to get so many people to participate - in this day and age of messed up thinking, that in and of itself says a lot? By the way, is there enough steam moving forward for your people to be permanently "left alone" or is our beloved government of tyranny going to keep looking for new ways to harass your people?
@jrlittlehawk63509 жыл бұрын
Jasper Williams no the government is like that, to harass, simply cuz we Aren't a federally recognized tribe
@thomasgomez75163 жыл бұрын
This is what's upsetting. Eagle feathers are used in many native cultures for many good things. You can only "Legally" posses an Eagle Feather, if you're a part of a federally recognized tribe. You can have DNA that shows you as being "indigenous" or "Native" but the Federal Government doesn't care. In some cases, Natives wont recognize other natives as being "Native" for those same reasons.. This infringes on the 1st Amendment for many Indians. Wonder when it will change.

From what I understand ne cannot possess bald eagle or brown eagle feathers unless a person belongs to a federally recognized tribe. State recognized tribes don't count. My daughter just joined the Mescalero on the reservation. She then went out and got a feather and wears it in her hat. The law was made to protect two endangered species. Even those on a certain reservation break so many laws concerning eagle feathers, and are a large part of the black market for eagle feathers and parts. Plenty stories have been told by an agent who does belong to the tribe. He states many Indians break these laws.

Pastor Soto is a member of the Lipan Apache Tribe, which is recognized by historians, sociologists, and the state of Texas - but not by the federal government. Thus, while millions of other Americans are allowed to possess eagle feathers, Pastor Soto - a renowned feather dancer and ordained religious leader - was not. After defending his religious rights for nearly 10 years, Pastor Soto finally entered into a settlement agreement in which the government promised to consider stronger legal protections for Native Americans. The Department of the Interior is now considering a petition to end the criminalization of eagle feather possession for Native American religious exercise. It almost seems to me that, if our "Government" runs out of people to catch, that have broken the law (I. e.-Murderers, child molesters, robbers, rapists, etc., etc.), then they seem to think that they have the right to infringe on other people's lives. It's like James Hetfield sang in the song "Eye of the Beholder", from the 1988 Album "& justice for all":"You can do it your own way, if it's done just how I say"! I may not agree with something that somebody else does, but I'm not their God, and I believe in Freedom!!!!;

There is a process to this procedure to having these feathers. It seems suspicious that a real American Indian have their feathers taken away. The past decade a number of people have been exploiting American Indians traditions, and how it that this he is dancing a Plains Indian dance when he’s suppose be Apache? It just seems questionable.
