Today I am not surprised when one falls at my feet or is given as a gift. I am thankful for the teachings I received with each one.

Last night, in my prayers, I had a revelation that was difficult for my heart to see. I was able to accept it and slept well. This morning on my walk I was gifted a beautiful hawk feather. The most unbelievable thing happened to me today! A bald eagle flew to my home and landed on top of the roof of my garage overlook at my house. I was inside the house and heard bunches of birds' noises, I looked out at my garage and saw an eagle landing on the roof. He looked around our property and looked at me, then flew away, left back one of his feather. I couldn't believe my eyes. I'm a city girl my whole life. We live in the busy neighborhood near downtown. I don't even know what an eagle looks like until today. I feel so honored and I can't never forget the scene of how all the birds kinda greeting the eagle. It's such a life changing event!

A few weeks ago I was gifted an a Eagle feather by a Native American friend who was terminally I’ll. He contacted me to let me know that he wanted to see me. I went to visit him, and he said he had some things he wanted me to have. He gave me a hand woven blanket, and a portrait he drew in addition to the Eagle feather. It would be considered a gift yes. If you go to powwow on the rez be sure to keep individual feathers tucked away. Many times you might have law figures trying to take them or ask you where you got them. If they're on regalia they dont ask so much. It's hard even today to have a gift from the Creator when the gov is trying to take them. Keep them close to the heart.❤

Answering Wendell Hodges. My Eagle Feather is from an Australian Wedgetail Eagle. There are Eagles here that will fly over towns while hunting over our rural landscape. Eagles are so majestic as they soar on the thermal currants of the valley between 2 small mountain ranges. They circle over the paddocks sometimes in pairs. All I can say for sure is an Eagle has left a feather & I found it. However I know in my heart that my Shamans' Guide has sent this to me as a reminder that he will always be my teacher even though his chaneller the shaman has moved far far away. As I walked towards the feather lying on the wet concrete in the dark, it was illuminated & a warm knowing feeling insisted ' that's yours' & his name came into my mind, so I thanked him gratefully. I cleansed my energy & my home with white sage using my feather and regularly do so. In hindsight, following that, a lot of negative energy came at me & I had been prepared to stay positive & strong by the blessing of my Eagle Feather gift, so I would smudge & cleanse with white sage & stay safe. I was gifted an eagle feather by a Dene / Chippewan friend from a very well respected family of entrepreneurs and dog sled racers in Yellowknife, NT. I'd never been more honoured to receive a gift such as this. I was able to share my emotions and stories of traumas, continual fights, and psychic awareness with this person who empathized greatly and shared his gift of listening. He told me that he was moved by the things that I had told him and that he believed that I had come in to his life for a reason or to teach him a lesson. We began to converse about intentions applied to metaphysics and how to communicate with others using emotional vibrations. He arose from his table and retrieved an eagle feather that he had, and as he walked back to the table he asked me if I knew what it was. I asked , "is this for me?" He told me yes and invited me to stay in his guest room for over a month as we began a very respectful and masculine bonding relationship as crew members of spaceship earth. It's power in prayer is incredible. I hold mine over my heart with two hands and connect with the creator and source of all. Once connected I communicate with the source for things that bring healing, benefit, enlightened awareness, love and abundance (among other things). When I send the prayer off I can tell how swiftly the source receives it! It's incredible. I'm also able to gain that attention and awareness of the creator for him to communicate with me with thoughts embedded in white light that penetrates my crown. The messages are so succinct, so direct and to the point that there's no mistaking them. There's no nonsense to the transmissions that come from the top down. One was outside my husbands car door. My father in law passed and we always think of him when we see one and his place in the heavens with the creator. My family (my great grandma was Choctaw and my great grandpa was Cherokee the hid from the Daws Rolls and made up their names. My memaw was Texas Tennessee White. No you are confusing the bald Eagle of North America with the Red Backed Sea Eagle you have there in India. The sea eagle, or as you call there the ‘Brahminy Kite’, is smaller then the Bald Eagle with different features.

Good video on eagle feathers. Throughout this land ( USA) its against the law 2 have or own eagle feathers or eagle parts unless you are Native American Indian. So how do I get an eagle feather ? I am washichu. How do I get an eagle feather or feathers? And what does your oyate / people say about hawk feathers? I know eagle feathers are holy and sacred. How about hawk feathers? They too are similar to the eagle! I read once that Tasunke Witko ( Crazy Horse) adorned himself with one hawk feather. He wore one only bcus he felt the eagle feather was too holy to wear. Furthermore even though he deserved to wear more than one feather bcus of his deeds as a Lakota Warrior he was humble and rather than wear more than one hawk feather it was his decision to wear one only! Hello, I was wondering how one earns one in todays culture, as you’re not really doing many things for the tribe. Would you earn it through family or would you wait until a powwow? I’m Ojibwa. Like would graduating be a reason for earning a feather? Recently I managed to change a racists point of view ( I hope) on natives, would this earn one?

Hi Amplified, thanks for your comment! There are many different ways and reasons for earning sacred feathers. Typically, feathers are gifted to someone who has achieved a great accomplishment or has done honourable work. However, it would really depend on the person who is doing the gifting - if they recognize an accomplishment of yours, then they would likely gift you with a feather. Congrats on graduating btw!

That's ok! Just different nations or tribes have different teachings and therefore different placements of the colours or a different colour all together on the wheel :)

You do a video on receiving gifts from the creator, nature and how to respect them. I washed the feather clean wrapped it in leather and beaded the handle. I keep is in a safe place because I haven't built a cedar chest for my gifts and offerings.

These unjust ‘laws’ regarding eagle feathers need to be repealed. It’s one thing to hunt or try to catch an eagle or whatnot for their feathers, and it’s a whole other story if you find one on the ground that’s definitely not attached to a bird. Those are gifts/blessings from God so these laws are REALLY suspect to say the least
