You have look at what the potential local investors have already done for this country. Should give you an idea of what direction this deal will go with South Africans in it let alone Americans. RSA rugby is the only thing that is worth anything to South Africans things should be left as is. we are doing just fine with no investment. However the greater powers of this world dont even need to buy the springbok brand they can just take it if they want.

The Springboks should not be sold in any way. Its 100% a national assest of the country. I certainly do agree that investment should be kept local as much as possible. And any foreign investment into the Springboks must come with clear guidelines and boundaries that 100% protects the Springboks as a South African assest first and foremost.

This is just political cosmetics on a pig. Rupert was already rumoured to be involved. More importantly the issue was not the percentage, it was the fact that this new partner has total 100% commercial control with only 20% equity, that their financial contribution is basically a fully guaranteed repayable loan which and that they maintain that control until that money is paid back. there is no set term for the agreement and we have not seen what their expected deliverables are.
