As a Georgia resident who will be voting Stacey Abrams is behind on polls because she doesn't like Georgia. She talks our great state down constantly and as Georgians we want a Governor who loves our state and is loyal to our state more then the federal government in Washington. We want a governor who's proud to be Georgian and embrace our culture, not try to be like some snob from up north or out west. Governor Kemp did an excellent job leading our state to a rising and soaring economy during the pandemic. Hey out of staters, wanna know we in Georgia and the South thought yall were crazy about vaccines mandates and masks and shutting the public and economy down? It's because we thrived while yall did your silly shit. Our wages increased, our taxes dropped, we got better working conditions, more time to ourselves and our families and friends, all the while the state shot up the GDP rankings to 8th, leap frogging our traditionally more prosperous cousins up north in North Carolina. This state was burnt to the ground, and it's been a damn long and hard fought road to become the center of the New South, and we are damn proud of our new-found prosperity. We are centers for Timber, a commidty in hot and high demand, especially as needed families are becoming able to settle down and look to build, we are one of the largest media and film hubs in the nation, our shipping and import industry is absolutely gargantuan for our relative small expenditure into traditional methods of import via the sea and harbors. Right now, in one year, I see more money than my ancestors post-civil war ever saw cumulatively, across generations. Winters were hard because of the real chance for death by disease and starvation. I for one am ecstatic and proud of my fellow Georgians and am just waiting for even better. The South Rose Again... Governor Kemp mentions how we had the highest black American voter turnout in the nation, we are damn proud of that! Out of staters, wonder why Georgia and the South seem so confused about yall screaming racism is everywhere? It's because unlike the North, which is still racially segregated along economic lines, the south has been integrated for 70+ years. We had our racism and faults and bigotry beaten out of us. We still teach all of our students every year (by teachers from out of state who get nice college degrees and move down south wheres it's cheap to live, where they can teach and talk about how horrible their new home is) our decisive and horrible role in slavery and the Civil War. We are 100% passed that. Our schools hold the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr to be self evident, we believe in treating all people regardless of the color of their skin with dignity and respect and judge them by their character, not their skin. We teach this formally to all children. This is a cultural belief we hold as Georgians. This is why we decry things like CRT and Racial Equity, why we are so angered by people who dare accuse us of racism. they are insults to us. These ideas are preposterous to us, they are pushed by outsiders who 1) known nothing of the New South and Georgia and 2) have the goal of erasing our culture and would love nothing more if we all just moved to the cities and became civilized blue voting urbanites. Maybe these people who see racism everywhere should look at a map and see where all of the worst of the race riots were and were all of the worst incidents that reached national news happened - they are above a certain line we call the Mason-Dixon round here by a very long shot. One national incident with Ahmad Arbery, with riots in Atlanta, compared to mayhem in the rest of the country, where in some parts still hasn't been quelled. Shit is back to normal here because there wasn't actually that much racial tension built up. Why do conservatives see less racial relations as issues? Because again, we live in the south, were it isn't a cultural issue And our society is completely integrated. Stacey Abrams is tied with Beto Orourke as having the gross distinction of being more supported outside of the state than within. She'd be a functional plant, a political operative against the state itself, because we don't want her - her funding comes from outside interest groups. No thank you ma'am, we appreciate the good work you have done regardless but she will never get my vote for any Georgia office. To be fair to Stacey Abrams, I 100% agree with her - we shouldn't be dealing and selling to the CCP, our avowed enemies.

Clarification on the whole water/snack debate: YOU can bring whatever you want. No poll workers are allowed to give them to you because it's seen as some sort of "bribe" in a sense. So many people have been trying to spin that as something it isn't. Lines are due to only so many can be in the voting area at one time for obvious reasons. My advice? Take a pal with you when you go vote, maybe a easy to move lawn chair and chat with each other while you wait.

@maryhorton78762 жыл бұрын
@@AliSwanson1728 so, it's only poll workers that cannot offer food or water to voters waiting for hours in long lines? I understood it to be ANYONE that offers or attempts to offer food or drink to someone that needs it while waiting for hours, can be subject to arrest. I'm going to look up the rules. I don't think it specifies only poll workers cannot offer food or drinks. (If it did, how in the world would anyone consider that some form of bribe or gift for the benefit of earning votes?) I need to understand what you are trying to explain about the really long lines and the many hours that voters in some areas have to withstand. I don't know what your explanation means, can you please clarify? Are you just saying, the lines are so long because there's a maximum capacity for people in the building and the other voters wait to go inside for their turn to vote? Of course there's only a certain number of folks who can go in and vote at one time. There's only a certain number of voting booths available at a time, too. That's not why the lines are so long though. I'm talking about hours and hours of waiting in line. 6 or 7 or even 8 hours waiting in line for areas in cities. The reason for such long lines has to do with the fact that a big number of voting locations have been shut down, leaving sometimes ONE location with voting access for areas with many tens of thousands of citizens eligible and registered to vote. That's the definition of voter suppression, in my opinion. A good example is for me to describe the area I live and how easy it is for me to vote. I wait very little, if I am actually in line. I don't think I have ever had to stand in line for more than 5 minutes in all the years I have been voting. (I'm almost 47). See, I live in a very conservative area and there's no lack of voting precincts for registered voters. It's awful suspicions that the places with the least amount of voting precincts happen to be in places with the high numbers of democrat voters. Voter suppression is an undemocratic act and whomever it is that controls the availability of voting precincts are doing an injustice to the ones being made to wait hours and hours and hours just so they can vote. The long lines though sadly, aren't the only act of voter suppression that is going on. Removing voters from the roll without their knowledge is another one. There's many more egregious acts done and still doing to keep certain people from voting. That's for another comment thread though. I was just addressing the long lines of which was brought up in the comment I am replying to here. My advice: make sure y'all are on the registration roll before it's too late to vote. Check today if you can! Also, once you know you're still on the roll go ahead and vote early asap. Try to go at a time when you think the wait will be minimal. If you requested and were sent a mail-in ballot, return it to a drop box or just take it to your local Supervisor of Elections office and they'll accept it there. That's just in case anyone didn't want to just send it in your mailbox for the U.S. postal service. (Some people were leery of using USPS in 2020 but if you send it many days before election day you should be good) You can request an absentee ballot through your local Supervisor of Elections office, just make sure y'all do it asap. There's instructions for how to track your ballot on your mail-in ballot paperwork. But definitely vote early! I hope y'all are having a good day, to anyone reading this! (And you too, @Ali Swanson😉) Have a wonderful rest of the day, y'all!😃👍❤

Right? The libertarian guy reminds me of some dude in the gym who comes to you out of nowhere and says something random. That line was perfect for this type of goon "You wanna apologize bro?" Not a fan of Kemp but his response was kind of on point "Uhhhh is that a question?" Ha ha.

Did you listen to a single word that Shane had to say or were you just only listening to what your favorite slave master had to say? I don't trust any of the people that were on that stage, but Shane had some very good thought-provoking points.

@@Disobedient_One if you still think that there are still slaves and slave masters, then I see why you like what he said. You like emotional speeches, not truthful or informative ones. 🤦🏾♀️

@@takietareyes1954 When you earn your money, are you required to give a portion of that hard-earned money to government who did f**k all to earn it? The answer is yes, so how is that NOT slavery?
