If I remove the governor on a gx200. Do you have to remove the governor arm? What does it hurt to have it in there if it is not contacting anything?

yeah show work the same just taking the arm off the spring and gear will still engage but wont turn down the power

Hey! Just wanna say thanks for making this video o have removed the "govener" but I didnt know that there was more to it. Also, I noticed when you are flooring it, the rpm seems to stop increasing once it gets to about 6000. do you think that is happening because of the way the stock cam is, do I need a performance coil ( if not would you reccomend a performance coil? ) Or is it not getting enough fuel to the point where I need an aftermarket carb?

no coil needed you can always help performance with exhaust and intake she rips now and torque converter conversion is coming for drivability

I know this is old but your valves are floating because the valve springs are strong enough to return the valves at that high rpm, leading to rpm topping out

Make sure you have the have the on off switch wiring is connected and working right. Had a kill switch break and make it not run till fixed

@@WideOpenThrottleGarage that's probably it. I did notice the "on" wire had broken off. I didn't think it had broken in the process of taking the govenor off, but it's a possibility. Will rewire tomorrow

you just take a small flathead and spread the o ring clip
