Governor Obaseki Sacks Health Commissioner Over Lack Of Capacity, Reiterates Resolve To Complete Stella Obasanjo Hospital
The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has warned that contractors and Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies not having the capacity to complete their assigned responsibilities would be relieved of their duties.
He handed the warning after inspecting the level of progress at the Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Sapele Road, Benin City.

The problem is not the Doctor alone. This project is purely an infrastructural concern that should have been assigned to ministry of works. Only to hand the administration of the services to the commissioner of health upon completion. Building and construction is not the Doctor/commissioners call.

The Commissioner’s has nothing as to do in sites except on an inspection visit with the governor. Progress of project works are based the consultant representing and the government committee of projects, armed with comprehensive and structured project works planned. Strongly of the opinion that the Governor Godwin Obaseki, actions reminiscent of public diversionary and seeking for sympathy where it’s least expected. The Government should instead activate the 2nd phase of the committee for government project monitoring and supervision, often the Governor and Health commissioner. Relieving the commissioner’s of the position, under who the project be supervised, directors that saddened and reminiscing of one man autocratic government or what popular know as government arrangee and public knavery.

When we talks about sensitive and huge budget projects, the head of the org., is in charged. Two. Other peripheral committees and the departments are representatives of the head because it form part of daily meetings deliberations. We must not allowed self to be fooled here, in addition to the peripheral of personnel, we expect external consultants working daily side by side with the project contractors. Without all these most unlikely that the State or the org., will pay more for lacked of proper supervisions. An unbiased will not hesitate to resolve that’s part of what usually occurred after the abracadabra nobody is hold responsible thereby resulting another phases of sordid rehabilitations contracts.

This is beyond outrageous. The later action reminiscent of diversionary, while Edo aborigines cannot be assuaged of any sympathy, that had caused the Edo State, hard earned taxpayers humongous budgets, for the past Eight years of PDP reign. The only reason why this inexcusable and avoidable government projects failures, can only be occasioned by the lackadaisical policies and programmes, replica of other State government projects.
