This governor seem to be very serious. He means business. I'm really impressed with the speed at which he's approaching real issues affecting Edo state citizens. The way he's also interacting with the teachers and kids shows that he is really down to earth. It seems he has been in their shoes before.

The problem of Edo government schools did not arise during the current past administration. He rehabilitated abandoned schools and turned them into a model public schools. These schools were abandoned by Oshiomhole. But he did not make it a political issue against his predecessor. The question is, has the current governor made efforts to visit those schools. Certainly not. And is he going to abandon them to score points against the former governor? It is the Edo people who are going to lose in the long run. The continuation of governance especially with regards to the infrastructure development and institutional development in the state is a sine qua non. There is no problem with him visiting the schools for possible repairs or renovations of them. But he should not use it to tarnish the reputation of the former governor of the state. As if to show that the former governor was a failure. Instead, he should continue to build on his legacy and not destroy it. Because continuity of governance is crucial for the development of Edo State. For example, Lagos State infrastructure development trend is based on continuity of governance. Therefore, he should stop trying to create division in Edo State and witch hunting. Because what the former governor has done for Edo State is enormous. And it has become a symbol and a standard of measurement. Certainly which the Edo people are going to use to measure the current governor’s performance.

Your comment is a disappointment. So you could find excuse for Obaseki and put the blame on his predecessor. So since 8 years was enough for Oshiomole to fix every deficiency in infrastructure in Edo but he abandoned them and did NOTHING (according to you, and with Obaseki as a principal part of that govt), why was the same 8 years not enough for Obaseki to do it? If you like read political sentiments into what the new governor is doing now, it is important for him to show samples of the infrastructural deficiencies that he met for him to show the difference he has made when the time comes. Obaseki that we know would do far far more. If truly Oshiomole was such an abysmal performer that you painted him, Obaseki not projecting it against Oshiomole could not be bcos he had any magnanimous personality. At worst it would only be bcos he was part of that failure (If there was truly failure) and he got into office through the backing of the same Oshiomole. So don't come here and paint Obaseki in any saintly colour here.

Obaseki that we know would have done far more in exposing the failures of his predecessor than what the new governor is doing if he was succeeding an opposition party governor. So no excuse should be made for him. Do we not know how much propaganda he mounted against the FG about some roads in Edo state? Was he expecting FG to also fix all roads in the country at once? The fact that he was part of Oshiomoles govt and that he was virtually made governor by Oshiomole must have been the reason for him not to propagate negativity about Oshiomole when he came in. But when they fell out we know what he did to mudsling and discredit Oshiomole. So if there is any propagandist, it is Obaseki.
