Mutabaruka is a Ugandan name given to the male people from Ankore, Kigezi, Tooro and Bunyoro kingdoms located in Western Uganda - the name also stretches to Rwanda. We also have some Rwandese living here in Uganda who are named the name Mutabaruka. The word "tabaruka" means "welcome back" in Runyankore language - especially when he has arrived safely. So mutabaruka means a person who has come back home safely. Therefore, I suspect Mutabaruka's ancestors to have been captured from East Africa.

Nonsense. Many of his claims are refuted with each progressive pronouncement. He says "If a cow born in a pigpen it's still a cow". Right, fair enough...So 'If a white man, yellow man, purple man, red man born inna Africa they're still *African* too'. See how that doesn't work? Can't take the splitting selective hairs argument. The truth of the matter is that *everyone* came from *Africa*. All this splicing and racial splitting of hairs...is a recent social construct. (Recent on the timeline of Humanity). The time we take going down this road over and over and over...opens this (discourse) to endless distortion. Christopher Columbus distorted stuff. And Mutabaruka is also doing his fair share of distortion too. "Every time ah hear di sound..."
@chitwnyawdman2 жыл бұрын
@@pureenergy5136 the man is and was ahead of his time. It's easy to identify where Muta has misguided views or simply wrong philosophies, but make no mistake, he was and is one of the few voices in tiny Jamaica being bold enough to challenge all Jamaicans young or old to THINK, rather than simply conform to ideologies that may not be serving us well as Jamaicans. I remember vividly hearing dis mad man seh some crazy tings back in the 90s and early 2000s and mi laugh, we all laughed and said "dumb crazy weed out idiaat bare foot rasta" - most religious Jamaicans shared that sentiment, to this day. Unfortunately, the cliche 'white man' and ppl in suit n tie who speak eloquent, have said similar things to Muta and same Jamaican ppl gobble it up as wisdom. Thousands of scholars and the intellectuals are on the same page as Muta, unless we're to assume all these scholars are all idiots too. Long Live Muta!!

@@pureenergy5136 What he is saying is if a White man is born in Africa, he is still a European. As his race is not from that original country and people will assume he is from Europe from just looking at him. So if you a blk persons born in The UK yr still an African. The saying is an old proverb, sorry if you didn't over stand it.

The best dub poet ever is the late Gill-Scott Heron, oh by the way, his parents were Jamaicans. And “the revolution will never televised.”
@maxamillionfrontiers97682 жыл бұрын
He was NOT a DUB Poet.A dub poet is a Jamaican term and unique to reggae music.With dub poetry you use the instrumental reggae version of a REGGAE song or parts of a reggae song and do spokn word to the reggae beat.This is how it became dub.Its called Dub because we Jamaicans call the instrumental B side version of a reggae side Dub because of the throbbing instrumental reggae beat.As far as know Gill did not perform his spoken word poetry to Dub or reggae so i dont know how he was a dub poet much less the world's best dub poet.
