My wife used to be anti gun before she met me. She understands the importance of self defense now and is all about it. That being said, some if my in laws see it as me “corrupting her”. All I can respond with is “no, I’m making sure she had the means and ability to defend herself if it ever came to that. Would you rather her end up assaulted, robbed, and/or dead, or would you rather her be able to stop anyone who would wish her harm?”. She’s not a big girl, and we obviously work at two separate places. I want her to come home every night safe and in one piece. It’s sad that some people see that way of thinking as sick and twisted. It’s almost like I care about her well being more than half of her own family.

Antonin Scalia said it best in District of Columbia v. Heller... "But why isn't it perfectly plausible, indeed reasonable, to assume that since the framers knew that the way militias were destroyed by tyrants in the past was not by passing a law against militias, but by taking away the people's weapons... that was the way militias were destroyed. 100% correct. Just throw that in the healing pile of hypocrisy that is attached to 2A abolitionist. I wish all we had to do was re-educate our fellow citizens on our 2A Rights. I strongly believe that 80-90% of the people could be ardent supporters of the second amendment and our government representatives would still pursue a total ban on guns. They want powerless subjects. People like Bedo dream of a day where the citizens have no ability to meaningfully resist their tyranny. They are willing to say and do anything to make that happen. It’s never been more clear in my opinion. Politicians now shamelessly advocate for obstinate refusal of Supreme Court rulings. That ideology is impossible to debate and very tough to beat. They hold the power.

No, that's stupid. Does the USA (a country virtually impossible to invade) can be compared to Ukraine ? Nope. The people, in Ukraine, who wanted to defend their Country, went to the Government and asked for a Weapon. They HAD to show PROOF that they were from Ukraine with Papers showing that they were in fact from Ukraine and they would get a Weapon after the Government had wrote the Serial Number for the weapon and they signed their name next to the serial number! There was a News Team at one place that were giving out Weapons to the Civilians. They asked, some of the people who were in line, if they had any Knowledge about how the weapons worked? Most of the people, said that they had An Idea of the workings but they weren’t sure how to Load it or how to get the Bullets into the Barrel so it would shoot! The reporter said that these people, had no idea on how the weapon worked! After getting a Brief Overview of the weapon the Government gave each person 3 or 4 magazines and showed them where they were to go? The reporter said, these people had NO CLUE about SAFETY and that they only pointed their weapon at the enemy! This Reporter said, at one of the areas where they were passing out Weapons, that one guy, shot everyone in the line, until it was empty! He told the Government that he didn’t know how to stop it from shooting! A reporter said, the First Month, more Ukrainians were killed by their own people, all because they didn’t know how to use the weapons that were given!

Great talking points. I like to reference the case of Reno vs ACLU when someone mentions the 2A was not written for todays firearms. In that case the court decided that the 1st amendment applied to the internet as much as it applied to books and newspapers. On another note, few months ago while in San Diego for work, I overheard a group of younger people talking while I was out for dinner. One person said to the other group, I have a firearm and a license to carry. You have to jump through hoops but its better to have it and not need it. Made me smile to know even in such an anti gun state, people still want to be able to defend themselves.

Unfortunately, I've experienced something a little different when the "Jekyll and Hyde" argument, as you call it, has been presented. These people (at least the one's I've encountered) actually believe that the trigger pulls the finger, rather than the other way around. I can only sum it up this way: I've never met anyone who's afraid of guns. I have, however, met a great number of people who are afraid of themselves. They genuinely believe that if they have the capacity to cause harm, they will be compelled to cause harm. They simply don't trust themselves with, what they perceive to be, that kind of power. They then project that instability on the rest of us. I agree with you, Mr. Ayoob, that they are in dyer need of psychiatric treatment. Where I disagree is our apparent respective perceptions of just how many of them there are. God Bless. Stay well.

You got a million dollar voice Mr. Ayoob. And pure logic that can't be denied. Thank you for standing tall against those that would surrender our freedoms to the state.

Great video Mas! I’m an LFI 1 grad and I love your teaching! It’s easy to get frustrated when debating this topic with anti’s, and I always try to remain calm and appear reasonable. Sometimes you don’t change a person’s mind right away, but you can plant a seed for them to think about. Also NEVER give them a reason to paint you as a crazy “gun nut”, they will just dig in to their position even deeper. I try to leave them thinking “well my side says that all these gun people are ………….. , but I was talking to David and he was a thoughtful and reasonable person.”

I really like the 10-10-80%! It makes sense to me. I think I’ve been working too hard trying to argue with that 10% that won’t move. Thanks for the new perspective!👍👍👍

I work maintenance in the schools for my state, and my state allows the board of Education to make the decision if staff can carry. My boe has not made a statement one way or the other, I wish I had you arguing for me.
