I am about to be a freshman in college this year. I am going to be getting my general studies out of the way and then transfer to a four year college to begin going after a health sciences or some sort of medical degree. do you have any advice for me? For instance, do you have any advice about the transition or what to expect? By the way, this video really helped me and I will use it for reference when I start college in a few weeks. Your channel has been a huge help to me and many others already, so I thank you for that!

@@thejuliacarter No problem. Your video was absolutely on point and came off very natural. It's crazy because YT suggested your video after I watched a review of Survivor EOE so since I remembered your story I clicked on your video and was pleasantly impressed. My goal is always to support my people in all of their endeavors and now you're added to that list. Great work. 👍🏽 Sorry the name is Ryan, not Jose. I don't know why YT decided to use my middle name and leave off the PH lol.

Hello Julia I am taking organic chemistry, micro organisms, English, and molecular biology of the cell this coming semster. Do you suggest that I read the textbook a head a time before school start? I also have difficulty with time management, I did write down all my class schedule in my planner ( organic, physiology, genetics) but I still end up going to bed late. Also it seems that I did not have enough time to study. Do you have any suggestions how can I do better?

Fellow penn stater here. I also got an A- in Engl 15 in a semester of all A’s. Brought me down to a 3.93 lmao
@thejuliacarter

LOL RIGHT Claude! Exactly what I was talking about. It’s infuriating because you will never be able to get back to a 4.0 just because of that damn A- 😂😂😂 Means very little in the grand scheme but stilll... ugh lmao

Hey Julia, so I am about to take organic chemistry1, general chemistry 2, general physics 1 and precalculus and trigonometry this semester and I am so hesitant about that. Do you think that could work ?
@thejuliacarter
@thejuliacarter 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Aichatou! That sounds like a similar semester that I had in college, and I survived it so you absolutely can make it work. Time management and staying ahead of your work and responsibilities will be key. You can do it! 😊

Hey Julia. I just finished my first year and ended with a 3.3 sadly due to personal family issues causing time off school. Do you think I can get to a 3.7/3.8 by the end of junior year?
@thejuliacarter
@thejuliacarter 3 жыл бұрын
Vishrut, absolutely! I am sorry to hear about some issues that your family was having and hope that you are doing well. It will be an uphill climb, but a 3.3 is very possible to work up from. A 3.3 is actually a pretty good GPA for freshman year so congrats first and foremost. You have to really stay on top of EVERYTHING, and make sure you are getting as strong of grades in your courses. An A- vs an A is a huge difference in GPA scoring so just make sure you are pinching and working for every point.
@imanialxia
@imanialxia 3 жыл бұрын
100% doable. I ended my freshman year with a 2.9, and i am now entering my junior year with a 3.8. Anything is possible if you work hard and put your mind to it. Good Luck!

Do you think it os a possibility to double major in bio/psych (18/19 cr.) while working 20 hrs / week, without sacrificing sleep (or health)??? 👀🥺 ... PS: I'm okay with sacrificing the social aspect.

Hey Julia, my advisor wants me to take organic chemistry and physics at the same time. I was not considering that option because I want my science GPA to high. How do you feel about taking organic chemistry and physics at the same time?
@thejuliacarter
@thejuliacarter 3 жыл бұрын
Faith, that is a tough set up! Organic chem is difficult across the board. I have never met a person who thought it was easy. Physics, however, is a hit or miss. Some people find it intuitively easier, and some don't. I personally was not a fan of physics, and it was difficult for me to understand. Therefore, doing two classes that are difficult at the same time may be a lot on your plate. So you need to think realistically about how well you can do in these classes (based on whether or not you like them/find them difficult or easy), think about whether you can handle them at the same time, and make your schedule based on that.

I did ochem and physics together last semester! It’s do able but I would recommend at least for one of the classes to get a head start by reading prep books. That’s what helped me :)

I have a 3.20 is it possible for me to go to a 4.0+? I have only one year
@thejuliacarter
@thejuliacarter 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lavone! I don’t know if you mean you have only completed one year or that you have one year left, but generally, bringing your GPA up from a fall is quite a difficult task. VERY POSSIBLE, but it is much harder to bring a GPA up than for it to drop. You will have to get straight As to bring it up significantly, however, it will never get back to a perfect GPA because there has already been a drop. Continue working hard, and you will see an increase!
