You are always there to help us. Though you are in med school, you take out time for us. I am glad to learn from you.

I'm so glad to hear that :) 🙌 When I say I'm going to do something, I stick with it. So no matter how busy I get, I'll be sure schedule the time as long as people are enjoying the content 💪

damn, this is gold lol. especially the first tip. some of the med schools do not count the GPA for classes taken during summer sessions.

Hi NXTgenMD - fantastic videos. Thank you! During your time at the Ryerson Biomed program which particular courses did you find during your first and second years to be notorious as GPA killers? You mentioned that stats course in this video. Are there any other notorious courses? Are there any elective courses you felt were GPA boosters or perhaps interesting to you?

Wow I thought I was the only person that struggled with statistics lol

Definitely not 😆 I'm happy to report though that I've hardly used much of what was taught in that class since the final exam 🙃

Hi I have some questions regarding postgraduate medical studies. So can you please reply to my dm's.

Hi :) I just caught up on all my DMs (I go through them once or twice per week). I don't recall seeing yours so its possible it got lost in my inbox. If I haven't answered, feel free to send it again to my @NXTgenMD account

RateMD is very handy. I've been referred to several specialists that had horrible ratings. I thought, well, give them a chance. Whoa, was I ever wrong in not trusting rateMD. Two specialists clearly should retire from practice and just teach instead.....

The ratemyprof tip is really good. The trick is to look for trends in the reviews. Like “prof x always tests off the textbook” or “all their questions come from y”, learning this CHANGED everything for me
@percolating-in-this-dancerie4 жыл бұрын
Also, take statistics through Chang school if your at ryerson, it was ridiculously easy
@nxtgenmd4 жыл бұрын
Totally agree 🔥 trends are much more valuable than one off reviews. Definitely agree with the chang school tip too 🤙

In regards to your first tip, I thought it was bad to take your core or "important" classes during summer school? That's what my guidance counselor told me, something about how Universities won't accept it??
@bruced94364 жыл бұрын
Completely unrelated your Q. My university counselor in my uni, is useless and she has gave me many bad advices. Not saying urs is bad at all but keep in mind to do ur own research.

As far as the Ontario medical schools go, (and a few of the others that I know about), there's no such restriction on when to take "core" classes :) The majority of medical programs don't even have specific required courses (but this changes from school to school). When it comes to stuff like this, you're always best reaching out to current students or even better, checking directly with the various schools on their websites 🤙

@@bruced9436 Unfortunately, many students have told me that they were given incorrect advice from their premed advisors 😅

Is statistics required for med school??
@ctman8384 жыл бұрын
..nope, you just need a piece of paper that says your smart (aka a degree), and a solid gpa/MCAT
@nxtgenmd4 жыл бұрын
Some schools don't even need you to have a degree :) There are a few medical programs that will take applicants who have not finished undergrad yet. Far as statistics goes, it wasn't required for med school, but it was required for my program 🤙
