So true Fadil! If one doesn’t try, how will he/she at least have the chance to be considered? I got rejected from two places before due to two different reasons. Didn’t get answers at all from some supervisors. But the 32nd email... got me a full schol from an Australian Uni. On behalf of all who are trying, thanks a lot for these videos!

Dinesh Weragoda I first got a list of universities in Australia and Canada. Then I visited the official websites of the universities that offered subjects related to my field. From the website, I got a list of academic staff (e.g. I visited the website of Uni of British Columbia, Department of Botany- academic staff). Go through the research profiles of those supervisors/academic staff and if you like their research work, send them an email (usually their email address is displayed in the profile). You should email them a cover letter which describes your academic and research backgrounds, ielts/toefl results, your goals and importantly how much interested you are in their research work and state that you’d like to be a part of their (PhD/masters) team. Highlight the necessary areas. Also attach your academic cv and transcripts. If they like your profile, they’ll reply explaining about the opportunities. Then they’ll guide you in applying for the university. This is the direct way of contacting them. (Hint: including some new idea which you can come up relevant to their research topic, in the cover letter, will mostly guarantee a response)
