Ive heard of that manuver as a last resort to keep from getting shot down. If you spin a p51 mustang it takes 7 to 9 thousand feet to get it back under control.

(0:04) "I joined the [U.S.] Army Air Corps [U.S.A.A.C.] as an Aviation Cadet" The U.S.A.A.C. became the U.S. Army Air Force (U.S.A.A.F.) in June 1941. By way of its ambassadors in Washington, D.C., Imperial Japan declared war on the U.S.A. on 7 December 1941. By way of a worldwide radio broadcast with Afolf Hitler speaking, Germany declared war on the U.S.A. on 11 December 1941. By way of a worldwide radio broadcast with Benito Mussolini speaking, Italy declared war on the U.S.A. on 11 December 1941. The U.S.A.A.F. would become the U.S.A.F. about two years after the Second World War ended in 1945.

Most pronounced statement i ve ever heard about the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan. Men like this gave America the most prosperous time in the history of America. So many made the ultimate sacrifice.

Precisely the moronic ideology that creates and will continue to create wars. And Japan had only kids left able to fight in 1945. The US knew irlt and still dropped the bombs, killing 150,000 civilians. A massive war crime. His statement about Truman nonsense.

One of my best friends father was killed by a bee sting. He survived being shot down in a b 26. Being machine gunned on the way down in his chute. Lived 17 days on the marrow from a horse leg. Then a German pow camp. He would curl his toes in his sleep after the war. He had the shot for the bee sting but couldnt bring himself to plunge it into his thigh. He was going next door to get a neighbor to help and he didnt make it.
