Ive heard of that manuver as a last resort to keep from getting shot down. If you spin a p51 mustang it takes 7 to 9 thousand feet to get it back under control.

Most pronounced statement i ve ever heard about the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan. Men like this gave America the most prosperous time in the history of America. So many made the ultimate sacrifice.

One of my best friends father was killed by a bee sting. He survived being shot down in a b 26. Being machine gunned on the way down in his chute. Lived 17 days on the marrow from a horse leg. Then a German pow camp. He would curl his toes in his sleep after the war. He had the shot for the bee sting but couldnt bring himself to plunge it into his thigh. He was going next door to get a neighbor to help and he didnt make it.
