Analyzing No. 13 Kansas State at BYU | Powercat Pregame Podcast

The 13th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats (3-0) head to Provo, Utah, to open Big 12 play with unranked BYU, but the Cougars also carry a 3-0 record. The game kicks off at 9:30 p.m. (Central) on Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium and will be televised on ESPN. As a BYU fan, I have no idea how to predict this one. But LES at night when BYU is undefeated is going to be a hell of a task.

I'd love to see Edwards and Giddens on the field at the same time with them running spread triple option type plays. Both of them can catch well, and taking a WR off the field isn't going to be a big sacrifice right now.

BYU plays Arizona often and hasn’t lost to them since 2008. Beating mid pac 12 teams isn’t scary. K-State’s running attack is. If BYU can contain the run and keep it close in the 4th they have a chance in LES. If they can’t contain K-State will run over them.

I like what Gilles talked about in terms of in spite of the elevation and the lake kick off and the travel involved with the road game and the active fan base in Provo based on the way we played last week in the potential we have all of our coaches and players I pick us for the win.

Byu does have a good home record, but how many of those wins were against power 5 schools?

BYU hasn't allowed a passing TD yet this year. The SMU redzone numbers are kind of skewed when you see they were starting on the 40 nearly every possession. On offense, they have more talent than Ryan mentioned. Should be a good game.

This game will be determined (whether really close or not) within the first few drives. If ksu gets scores while byu punts and struggles, the game will be over rather quickly, otherwise this should be a good game.

This is a set the season table win for K-State. As physical as we play, it is plausible our team is a match or better in conditioning and style of play. Cats winning against a good game home team has to bolster their standing. Plus bring this experience to WV and CU, other mountain schools.

I think we’re going to lose this game. BYU is 23-3 in there last 26 night games. Also, they have one of the best game day environments in college football.

No shot. In some years yes, you gotta remember not last season but a few years in a row byu had some solid strings of QB. Not this year. It’s tough to win there but Kansas st can prepare for it. 34-20 cats.

BYU does not have a run game. Already one dimensional. Keep Ratzlaff contained, lots of pressure and play solid in the back end. Offensively, just like Big B said. Similar play as last week.
