'85 was the year my dad raced in Europe on his Yamaha 250. Those bikes are probably not represented as they aren't as star studded as the big bikes but from the stuff I've watched they made for damn good racing. My dad would later win the Yamaha Belvedere Cup back in Canada in '86 or '87

You'd think in this day and age there would be some kind of motorcycle sim racing handlebars or something available.
@Stoner-yx8ij Жыл бұрын
They have/are, check out the hs2/hs3. I don't think they will ever be able to simulate riding a bike though
@gossebrakarАй бұрын
That would be weird as you actually push the handlebar towards the opposite direction of where you’re going when riding for real.

I love Ride. I just tend to run time trials because they don't have the "I" locked down in AI. Also I recommend 4 on a steam sale with all DLC.(14 bucks?) So many toys so little time. Love the Wheel controller buy the way.

Schwantz did ride a gsxr in american superbikes but when he was in 500gp's he rode an rgv500 2 stroke. Different animal. 170bhp and 115kg as opposed to 100bhp and 185kg of the gsxr

May the schwantz be with you. Yes #34 got his first gsxr 750 in 85 the first model year I am the biggest schwantz nerd in the states. They had him race a couple of certain races. That would not interfere with gp. He is a class act period. And his pit area for the Daytona 200 in 04. Next to ours he was Ben spies mentor and Yates, mladden needed no coaching lol. This made me think of something that I've only kinda looked into before. Locked to horizon view vs locked to cockpit view. This video is demonstrating locked to horizon view, where the horizon is constant and the dash is moving around. Does this sim have locked to bike view where the dash is static in the middle of the screen and the horizon moves around? I just now read an article where it says in many sims you can choose a combination. The article says "..iRacing's (non-default) horizon locked solution where the view is locked to the horizon up to 30 degrees at which point it becomes locked to the car. This allows the track to look correct for banking and hills..".
@GPLaps Жыл бұрын
Yes, there are several different onboard views. This one simulates the rider's helmet position. There are other which are locked to the bike
@Dethmeister Жыл бұрын

And what in particular is making the tire radius shrink?
@teemuholopainen4745 Жыл бұрын
The revs were higher cos of higher speed I'm saying. I'm thinking, is there any kinda rig similar to wheel and pedals setup made for bikes on the markets? Anyone? It's been good ten years since I played a video game but try using a controller with steering by middle fingers and accelerator on right thumb and brakes on the left thumb. I found it much more accurate and controllable
@Fastvoice Жыл бұрын
It's not the higher speed in the corners, it's the shape of a bike tire tread. It is half round so the overall radius gets smaller when you ride it on the flanks. That's why you should add a bit of power in turns to maintain your desired speed and not slow down too much (you need higher revs in corners for the same speed as on the straights). Biggest radius is when you use the highest point of the tire - which is on the straights. The tire itself doesn't change its diameter notable (in fact it does "grow" a bit at high straight speeds due to the centrifugal force but that is negligible).
@teemuholopainen4745 Жыл бұрын
@@Fastvoice damn you're right I've never been riding a 2 wheeler more than 100 kmh so They are so not only counter intuitive but anti intuitive, compared to cars Is the tire contact patch still the same eg the traction available?
@Fastvoice Жыл бұрын
@@teemuholopainen4745 Depends on the shape of the tire. But especially on racing slicks you have a larger contact patch on the flanks than in the middle.
@teemuholopainen4745 Жыл бұрын
Depends on the shape and the tire pressure depends and the temp and you're again in the circle, you adjust something and everything gonna change

Something inconsequential and meaningless, but a bit distracting is the way the tachometer needle snaps back with every shift, which is weird because it wasn't like that in previous games.
