Hi! I'm the creator of Mt-Tremblant 69. You did great with this video, very nicely done with clever camera shots to present the surroundings. I was smiling all along. Now I know what to show people that aren't in simracing what I did all this time. Many thanks for all the positive comments and observations. I knew you'd like it ;-)

The fact the circuit is still here (for now) and doesn't have at least one race for IMSA, IndyCar, Lower Formulae, Touring or even GTWAm race is a damn shame. We lost the great Westwood, let's not have Mount Trembly go the same way.

I know this circuit hanks to Grid Autosport. This Track provides fantastic Racing in this Game. Especially Turn 1 is a Hotspot for Crashes. That's why i Drive Always slow and on the inside. In one Race, the AI Made a 8 Car pile up there including both Ravenwest Cars. And the Cars Flip easily on the gravel traps

Unfortunately Canada lacks the national racing series. So this is always going to be an issue. And unfortunately we don’t have enough of a motorsport culture to support some thing like the V8 supercars. Champ car did race here one year in 2007. And they never knew what to do with that first chicane.

Great vid and race. Love seeing these Canadian tracks. Mosport and Tremblant done, what's next, maybe an original Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (or Circuit Notre-Dame as it was originally) in turbo-ground effect F1 cars?

That would really be a great tribute to Gilles in the 40th of his departure at Zolder in that damn collision and flight. Here in Italy we still cry him like it was Ferrari's son (and for Enzo, he has really been like an adopted son, even for a while...). SALUT GILLES! Lest We Forget! 💙👋

Yeah, this looks absolutely great. Btw, Surtees was F1 champ in '64; Clark was the '65 champ. I think you managed a 1:43.5; the best in the actual event was a 1:37.3, which, after watching this, just seems all the more insane at a certain level.

Great memories here for me. I raced here in 71, CSSC in my 67 911s Porsche bought from Vasek Polak in 69. My only LeMans start was here...I had qualified 2nd, but left last after belts were buckled....fought back up to 5th...my wife and I still remember it all in the beautiful Country.

12:00 This '69 Mt. Tremblant version is so accurate and the accuracy comes into the details. Every time I pass on the hump without enough downforce my car wants to fly, and that's what exactly happened to Jakie Oliver in 1970. That's a great proof of the attenction to the details. 👍

Was just about to say "this is not Mont Tremblant" then realised getting confused with Trois Riveirs (sic), Canadian circuits, only know Mosport and not sure about that! And only reason know Three Rivers is 'cos where Villenueve made his name impressing Hunt.

It is a fun track. It and Mosport are like rivals and Mosport had the advantage of being less off the beaten path. I think Le Circuit however is the more fun one to drive (I live 25 minutes from Mosport so it hurts saying that) ...not sure if makes for better racing

Wow, so much to comment on. Another outstanding video, Jake. Well researched, and beautifully produced. And great driving to boot! Mt. Tremblant was the first permanent circuit I ever attended, back in the mid 70s. It was about 2 hours from my home. I just missed the F1/Can-Am era, but it was a huge regional club racing track, eventually hosting national series like the Player's GM, Hankook Formula Ford and Rothmans Porsche 944 Cup in the 1980s. I have been watching the development of this mod since I began sim racing, and I am beyond thrilled that it has now been released. Thank you GPLaps for letting everyone know about it.

I was waiting for this release (St-Jovite) for two years, since I watched one of his pre-release vids here on youtube and began to search for it only to discover the topic in the assetto mods forum where he was saying that the job would take a long time to be released! Going to delight myself with this track! :) Great vid as always! Cheers!

I love this video, and this mod. The amount of detail and work put into this is honestly 10/10. Grass FX, spectators, good looking game objects and advertisements, really go a long way for presentation. And always take forever to put together, and work💀 This track compared to the fictitious one I've done, which is still missing those things, it's such a huge difference in overall quality.

I can only imagine how much production time goes into these. I recall liking this track (a bit like Road America and Road Atlanta) when someone modded it to work in Grand Prix Legends. And Mosport was a good track (a bit like Brands Hatch and Oulton Park) too. Did the original track creator in real life create any other tracks? The big advantage in Assetto Corsa is the availability of cars, tracks, and full racing series add-ons for sure.

Great video. I remember the first-time watching a race Canadian F2000 series race from Mont Tremblant on TV. In the early 1990's on Sports Channel. I felt wow, that's a great track. Also, the documentary you were talking about with James Garner is called Once Upon a Wheel. I got that on VHS tape. Plus, I remember ChampCar racing there in 2007 when Robert Doornbos won beating Bourdais in the wet. I think IndyCar should be racing there instead of Toronto.

Every once in a while, I remember Mont Tremblant exists and openly wonder how the bloody hell there aren't several different racing series with race dates there. I've checked, and while the place doesn't have anywhere near the facilities (read: laboratories) necessary for F1's temperamental spaceships, IndyCar would do just fine. *_SOMEONE GET PENSKE ON THE PHONE._*

The knowlege and undertanding that you have of racing history is impressive! I want to let you know that me and my friend we found out that there is a setting on Custom Shaders Patch under Extentions \ Car Instruments that if you really disable the function - Use Accurate Tachometers - .... actually they work properly while racing onboard... they don't flicker or get rpm lag like is show on this video! ;) Keep up the great passionate work that you do! :D
@GPLaps
@GPLaps 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliments, glad you enjoy! The Tachometer movement is accurate to how the tachometer moved in a lot of cars of this time period. They are called a "chronometric" tachometer and worked via electric impulse, so the movement was only updated every second or so Not so useful for understanding your RPM but accurate to the cars of this time!

I was a spectator at Mt Tremblant / St Jovite for the opening CAN-AM race back in 1966. I remember watching Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon in their bright red MCLaren M1-Bs as they came out from under the bridge into the following left hand turn during practice. Sadly I don't remember anything of the actual race (probably my friends and I had had too much beer by then!) but I do remember the hump. Aerodynamics were in their infancy then and some cars indeed got airborn there during practice. The track sim itself looks very realistic.

This circuit is what introduced me to racing and my love for autosport. I've had the pleasure to rip around in person, and it's amazing how the layout has remained unchanged. Turns 1, 2 and 3 are properly terrifying considering they're blind, going 150kph, with a very small braking zone for turn 4. Turn 9 (hump) is significantly smaller now, but the car still gets light over the hump. It's an extreamly satisfying track to get right, and has the perfect amount of flow. Turn 12(uphill bridge) is a favorite as you can hear the echo of the exhaust for the downshift, and can take an enormous amount of speed through it for how tight it is. Plus the slightly off cambered nature creates some great opportunities for power slides when you want to have a little fun. It's a truly fantastic track with some pretty cool history. Shame the new residence are complaining about noise.

The circuit map shows that this is a flowing track, but no circuit map can do justice compared to actually driving the track. There are a lot of elevation changes, which adds to the challenge of mastering the place. And this is definitely a challenging circuit, especially when the first significant turn of the lap happens at Turn Three - so, no Turn 1 meme here. I like this circuit. Thanks for showing it to us.
