Thanks GP. about 6 months ago, after reviewing your and a few others who recommended the Reolink Argus I purchased one. I was way more than impressed for what I got for the fare. In fact I purchased a second camera and purchased one for my son and son-in-law. They are very pleased as well. Reolink is smart to get you to use and endorse their camera but more than that THEY WORK and ARE USER FRIENDLY.

Defiantly an upgrade in overall quality from Argus on this new gen camera. Much better. I also think we need a compelling full version of this 'GP Mows The Yard' video. I mean, you are GP Outdoors after all😅Plus, as an added bonus, you can have critics of your mowing technique, pattern choices, and cut height and mower brand, all while recorded in clear and beautiful 4K and enriched color, picking up all the little details lol

Good Evening Gord That a pretty good camera.. I am pretty sure we talked about this in one other of your camera Videos.. I did try other brands but settled on Wyze.. We have 9 up and around the house.. When we go to camp We can keep a very good eye on what’s going on at home… We put up outside a Wyze cam that when it detects it will follow what ever it is.. That is a pretty cool cam.. I always turn that function off when I am home.. hahahaha It follows me everywhere when I am moving around the house.. hahahahah We have scared the crap out of people cause you can talk to them.. hahahahaha Never use the siren mood hahahahaha Thanks for sharing another great experience with us.. You have never let me down.. Please tell Carol Howdy Sally and I.. Oh how’s the new party boat treating you guys.. 😉 Cheers my friend..

Thank you for the review; well done. Question-I'm thinking about doing the same setup as you have but more for a scene view. So, I'd like to do your setup but angle up horizontally to see the water and clouds more, not the yard. So basically, it's a horizon cam. I'm just concerned about how it will record and look with a setup like this. Any thoughts or feedback @GPOutdoors or anyone else?

That's a great point, it is up about 12 feet but I also tilted it downward to focus about 25-30 feet out. Have a good week!

Curious about the detection sensitivity. Would it pickup movement from the edge of the forest? For example if someone approached your property from the edge of your forest would you get a notification while they were at the edge of the forest or would the notification come later as they got closer to the camera. Does the movement of the flag at your waterfront send false notifications?

Great questions Randy. The flag - sometimes . In general over alot of experience with the others and this one on certain days I get notifications form the flag which is about 50 feet away ( at least I believe that is what I was getting). When I walk off the driveway into the side about 30 feet away, it gets me. But generally these cameras will pick up motion at about 30-35 feet ( same as my Wyze). However on some days, I get it at almost 80 feet away on the other Reolinks. I think perhaps sun or reflective surfaces make it pick up earlier. Ie. my tractor gets picked up when I come around the corner from the driveway but only sometimes. At home, generally when someone or a car gets part way up the driveway, is usually when it picks them up but on some days I get the cars driving past on the road which I measured to be 75 feet away. Anyways, long response but I think you can rely on about 35 feet. And this new one doesn't catch me at the very edge of the sides. it gets me after I walk in about 5-10 feet from the side. Hope that helps a bit. Sorry for the long answer.:)

Morning - yes I have a few times - one of my neighbours has it now - had to have a forester come in and remove a bunch of trees to get the signal to the dish. He says it works great for him too but very expensive to buy it and much higher monthly than I currently pay. It would be nice to have a great service though. Thanks!

That's a great question - I believe the spots did come on but I didn't go out and look a it. I can see there is an option to turn them off in the settings. Cheers!

Just a question, why do you need to put in the cloud account when it will hold 128mb of memory for free?

Good morning! That is a good question. I put it in the cloud primarily because it is always there for me to access and I don't have to worry if the card gets corrupted, camera stolen or damaged by intruder, or doesn't record properly ( this happens from time to time with my normal Go Pro cameras), and also, saves me money from having to buy 7 high speed memory cards. But many folks have said they do use the SD cards. The cloud service is only 3.99 US / month for 5 cameras. Hope that helps.:)

I think the coldest day we have had so far up here is about -41, and I can't remember the windchill that day but we usually get alot of days below -30 celsius during the mid winter months. Always works. Have a great day!

I think hardwired probably is but these ones connect everytime and have for 3.5 years . I didn't have to install cabling etc so I am ok with it. But yes, I agree, that hardwired is probably best, for several tech items - not just cameras. Thanks for tuning in!
