If GPS devices are only accurate to 2-3 metres, how will thia work at all. The kibla wall will be 10 metre at most and therefore the start and end points +-2m will make a huge error in concluding the direction.

Originally their accuracy was to 3 meters. That was in 2000. Accuracy has improved much in the last decade, and will continue to improve and more and better satellites are launched, and stronger cell phones become more common. A dedicated device is much better, as it serves one main purpose, and that is to triangulate with satellites.

Very cool! I have a question relating to your Petra theory. I am curious about an aspect of Judean history and if it's connected to your theory about Petra being the original Mecca. I've done a tiny bit of reading about how the Maccabeenans/Hasmonoan kings did something kind of weird at the beginning of their dynasty. They conquered the Gallilee region and also Nabatea (or maybe just Petra?) and forced these people to convert to Judaism. This is weird because Judeans and Jewish people aren't a proselytizing or forcible converting kind of people usually, so why these two instances? The Gallilee makes sense because that area was part of the traditional land of Israel and they seemed to have wanted to take it back and impose the specific Judah-ite version of Yahwism on their Yahwist cousins. But why Nabatea? Is it because of Petra's role as a major spiritual center for cultures in the region?

So Hud & Salih are really Hul (or it might even be Lud his other grandson, one was Lud and one was called Hud) and Shelah/or Selah. They are the grandson's of Noah and Listed in Genesis 10:22-25 of the Bible. The names are slightly misspelled in the Quran, just the same way Thamud is spelled Thamood in there. Same words, spelled differently because of the variation in languages. And Aad in the Quran I believe is Almodad, Joktan's son but since they named a city after him they cut his name short because it was easier. So the city of Aad came from Almodad. So those were the 3 you were wondering about and their all confirmed in Genesis 10, the son's of son's of Noah; his direct descendants. Remember when the Arc ship touched ground it had landed on top of a rock/mountain. Hence one of the reasons they built cities in such way. It is said that some of his descendants were huge aka Giants. And the city you are looking for is in the Jordan, pronounced 'Sela'.One site by this name is placed by the Second Book of Kings in Edom.[2] It has been widely identified with the archaeological site of es-Sela' or as-Sila' in Jordan's Tafilah Governorate.Sela (Hebrew: סֶּלַע, transliteration Sela‛, meaning rock; Arabic: السلع, es-Sela‛; Greek: πέτρα, 'Petra'; Latin: petra)[1] is a geographical name encountered several times in the Hebrew Bible, and applicable to a variety of locations.[2]In the Book of Judges there is a mention of a place called Sela, "the rock", on the southern border of the lands still inhabited by the Amorites after the partial conquest of Canaan by the Israelites (Judges 1:36).] And Petra means rock,🪨 which confirms the location as accurate.

Also the city of Lud is called the city of Lod. Slightly misspelled as well. [The city of Lod, also known as Lydda, appears in the Bible in both the Hebrew and Greek versions: Hebrew Bible The city is named Lod in the Hebrew Bible and is mentioned in 1 Chronicles 8:12, Ezra 2:33, Nehemiah 7:37, and 11:35. It was founded by Shamed or Shamer along with Ono. New Testament The city is named Lydda in the Greek version of the New Testament and is mentioned in Acts 9:32-38. In this account, the apostle Peter heals a paralytic in Lod.] [And the land of Hul, Where is the land of Hul? Hul: Joshephus identifies this land as what is now called Armenia.]

For Hama Great Mosque built in 637, your qibla tool got it wrong! Instead of pointing Hama Great Mosque, the blue balloon is pointing Al-Hassanin Mosque. Too bad because the qibla is different! The Hama Great Mosque is about 3 blocks away, it’s easy to recognize it by its specific characteristics. Now it’s time to find the real qibla of Hama Great Mosque with your GPS apps! You will see it’s not pointing Petra anymore!

I am always excited and very grateful when someone spots an error! Thank you for letting me know. I have now made some changes. The Hama Great Mosque was rebuilt in the 1980s, and has a Between Qibla. It has been rebuilt over the centuries several times, so this adds a bit more of the story. The Hassanin Mosque is also very interesting, as its shape, size, and orientation hints that it may be a much older mosque than Nur AlDin. I suspect he just rebuilt it, based on an earlier mosque. I have not found any architectural or archaeological reports on this mosque yet.

@@DanGibsonFilms Yes, it was never a Petra Mosque. Good you made some changes. During Hama massacre in 1982, the Hama Great Mosque was very damaged not completely demolish so they rebuilt and repaired parts that had collapse using new and old materials like stones. They renewed the old mosque on the same foundation with the same orientation. There is at least another old mosque that you didn’t factchecked. For this one on your qibla tool, the blue balloon is pointing not a mosque but ‘’a parking lot’’! Yes, you missed the spot! Ups! another error …The mosque is further away, there is a long path to walk. And what do you think happen to the qibla? No, no, I won’t tell you which mosque this time! It’s up to you but very possible you will never find which one.

@@roukayajannah5111 I assume you are refering to Tarsus-Gozlukule. I tried to take the coordinates from "Özyar, Asli, Ünlü, Elif, Pancaroğlu, Oya, and Agnès Vokaer, 2017. “Recent Fieldwork at Tarsus-Gözlükule: The Medieval Levels”, in: Sharon R. Steadman and Gregory McMahon (eds.), The Archaeology of Anatolia, vol. II: Recent Discoveries (2015-2016), Newcastle upon Tyne: Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 197-226." The problem is that many many archaeological reports DO NOT give GPS coordinates for their digs. So it is very hard to nail down exactly where they are. So sometimes I just have to put it as close as I can. Then I classify the QIbla direction as unknown, as I could not get anything specific. If you know the exact GPS coordinates, and if you know of better archaeological reports than what are listed on the webpage, then please let me know.

Hi Dan Are you aware of this historical nugget? My jaw dropped when watching Religion for Breakfast on the issue of why 25 Dec is Christmas. As part of the lecture (starting at 15:13 but jaw drop moment at 16:03 ) in the section on Elagabalus and Aurelian. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4jKq52trppkobcsi=Hmt9-KoZZcGCoSSm Elagabalus was so named because he worshiped the eastern sun god Elegabal whose cultic centre was in what is now Homs. Amazingly the cultic object was a very familiar black stone. This was worshipped and even mounted on a Dias and paraded around on holy days. I think this is probably the black stone currently worshipped much further south. I am not sure if this connection has been made before but felt it important to alert you to it in case it has not. God bless you and your work. I hope you are well. Best wishes D

Dear Mr. Dan Gibson on the Islamic archeology of the pre-Islamic period. "The Saudi Government banned all excavations of the pre-Islamic era - archaeological discoveries in Saudi Arabia to date: the Qaryat al-Faw." Is it just state law of religion or something else. Destroying traces of one's own country's past by police departments, state religions as law. Religious police. What are they really afraid of? Any stone carving from before the construction of the current center of the Arab world is considered an impurity of Shaytan. It is now possible to determine the location and direction for religious purposes. The GPS system works, but not in Central Europe. The Russians broadcast the intercepted satellite signal on a more powerful transmitter from the Kalingrad Oblast. Here the navigation system no longer works and does not show the direction. Where's the astronomical archeology? The location of ancient cities from times before the first year of Hijri is possible. All cities were named differently in ancient times than they are today. Even today they change the names of many places and cities. I don't know what this is for, but it's weird. Discovering the past through archaeological research threatens to destroy the established social and legal order, and anything that changes the established rules is considered blasphemy. People around the world have long noticed that there is something wrong with reality when something is hidden too much. Qaryat Al-Faw, which is 700 km southwest of Riyadh, is considered one of the most important ancient cities of the pre-Islamic era in Saudi Arabia. The Nabataeans have long disappeared from the pages of world history. In a time when everything disappeared in the outbreak of revolution of the new order of these tribal nations, under a strong leader. Bloody revolution of wars. The Battle of Badr took place in March 624 C.E. However, the revolutionary times of those times had begun a hundred years earlier. Military expeditions of the Byzantines to the land of Arabia. The Eastern Roman Empire accelerated changes in the troubled local population of nomads. Overpopulation and dry climate, lack of food and water, the reason for the military expansion in North Africa, and not only the expansion of the religion of Islam itself, modeled on like Christian missionaries. "From 711 to 718, as part of the expansion of the Umayyad Caliphate, which had conquered North Africa from the Byzantine Empire, nearly all of the Iberian Peninsula was conquered by Muslims from across the Strait of Gibraltar, resulting in the collapse of the Visigothic Kingdom. During the caliphate of the sixth Umayyad caliph, al-Walid I (r. 705-715), Tariq ibn Ziyad departed from North Africa in early 711 across the Straits of Gibraltar with a force of about 1,700 men to launch a military expedition against the Visigoth of Toledo, which controlled the former territory of Roman Hispania." A more interesting time would be from 500 - 600 B.C. city of Petra and ancient city Yatrib. In those times, there was a nomadic settlement oasis in the desert on that gave rise to the present-day city of Mecca. One of the sources supplying the oasis was the wadi's or the Zamzam name spring slightly salty water. Current cities were built from scratch, and all traces of the past were hidden under stone and modern iron was poured with concrete. During the life of Claudius Ptolemy, all this was unknown to people from other places in the world. This has yet to be discovered and described around the 2nd century AD. 😀

In the vlog of the Sacred city, you talked illogically about Makkah. You have closed the comment box, which is a laborious process. That's why I am replying to you here below,, Makkah's sanctity is proven in the Qur'an, because there is no room for doubt in the words of Allah. Makkah is associated with the last prophet. Islamic history is confirmed by Bukhari and other Islamic books. Makkah was created by Allah Ta'ala through the existence of his last prophet. The city's geography, weather and social activities were all created according to the existence of the last prophet. Allah made this city safe because Muhammad was to be born here and the foundation of Islam was to be laid. If there was an alternative to Mecca-Petra, the situation and society there would be different. That is, Makkah was not in accordance with the program of Muhammad and Islam. Allah Almighty made the foundation of Makkah only under the program of the birth and upbringing of Muhammad and the foundation of Islam. Petra can be associated with the ancient history of the Arab race. When Alexander the Great occupied this region, there was a nation living in Petra who worshiped idols. After losing the battle with Alexander the Great's army, this nation lost its existence. The successors of Petra are scattered, this city falls. Similarly, in the Roman Empire, this city was captured and ruled by the Romans. There is also a hint about Petra in the Qur'an which says, Before you, there have been many powerful nations among you who refused to recognize their God and We erased their existence. In history, the destruction of Petra is much earlier than Islam. That is, Petra was destroyed centuries before the existence of Muhammad. You are giving the wrong direction to historical facts and words. The existence of Mecca in Islamic history is very strong. God has made this city safe. Your arguments are ridiculous. You want to destroy the importance of Makkah which is associated with a negative and negative psychology. I feel this while listening to you. It is to mislead the Muslims by making the status of Makkah false and declaring the Islamic history incorrect. This can damage your status. You will be frustrated with your aimless program...
