Beautiful video! I snorkeled in the Silfra Fissure In November 2017. What an amazing experience. Would love to do it again.

I was ready to click away from this until I was caught by the very personable narrators. I spent two of the most memorable years of my life in Alaska with friends who were into leading big game hunts (Moose mainly), mountain climbing, and just plain wandering the outback. This brings back those memories of the land and old friends!

Done this. Absolutely superb. The water was so fresh you could remove your regulator mid-dive and drink straight from the source.

Awesome dive! I’ve been a diver since the 1980’s, sometimes using a wetsuit, but I can’t imagine diving in water that cold... or using a drysuit. Hats off to y’all but I have chills just seeing how cold that water looks! Hats off to y’all.

If the water is coming from the glacier is it coming from the top layers or the bottom? If it is being squeezed out of the bottom layers they are swimming in water from thousands of years ago!

It's from the bottom layers. So they were diving in the past, so to speak.

Loved how the bubbles under the ice looked like mercury 😍 This is something I think I'd like to do but I fear both the scuba and being under the ice might be a bit panic-making! Does John dive a lot or was it quite new to him?
@TheReykjavikGrapevine3 жыл бұрын
John was a diving instructor and an underwater photographer in a pre-Grapevine life, but in Indonesia where the water is more like 28°C than 3°C!

Would it be possible to meet the staff from the Reykjavik Grapevine? I would like to take my adult son for a exploration trip to Iceland; we are in California.
