How impressive and beautiful. I wonder if the recent earthquakes and future eruptions will change this area. I think you are grateful to have seen this lake with you own eyes. How wonderful our planet is. I am thankful to live here on earth.

Wow, many thanks for this. My son (26) and I (60) are going there in Aug 2024 and he REALLY wants to do this. I am definitely NOT a cold water person and very much relate to your initial hesitation and anxieties about WHY in the world I would want to do this… Is a long way to Iceland from south Texas to go freeze to death! Honestly I was expecting you to quit in the middle of the video. But it sounds like the discomfort is very well worth the effort, yes? Would you do it again? Would you recommend it to your 60-year-old friend, dad, etc (some you’d love!)? A few more questions please: how easy/difficult was it to stay afloat? Once in the water are you able to stand up at any point, say to get a break from stretching flat on the water and or to get a break from biting on the snorkel? If you need to quit in the middle of it can I safely assume they help you out of the water? Many thank in advance!

Thanks for watching! I would say you should absolutely do it! It was such an amazing experience. There is a point at which you can turn around if you decide it's not for you, but after that you are committed. It's so worth it and yes id do it again. It is SO easy to float. the dry suit is full of air so you don't even have to try to float you are just very buoyant. they don't like you to stand on any of the rocks as it will disrupt the area, however you can roll over to your back and keep your head above the water if you need to adjust your snorkel or let your face thaw for a bit. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, id say do it. just embrace the discomfort as it is temporary and enjoy the views! I hope this info was helpful!

Órale, This place is breathtaking, and I hope to travel to Iceland someday. I'm an earth scientist, and I would like to go snorkeling in this place. I'm going to learn to swim very well, hahaha, and also study English a lot. Currently, I'm working and saving money to finance my travels as a backpacker. Very nice video. Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
