ANY responsible, well-trained shooter knows the trigger of any holstered, loaded firearm must be protected from accidental movement. This holster is an accidental (NEGLIGENT) discharge waiting to happen. Show a picture of the holstered pistol to any police officer, defense attorney or district attorney and ask what they think the jury verdict will be in a defensive shooting situation. I have been an NRA pistol instructor for almost 40 yrs (yes, I'm that old), owned an indoor shooting range and have been a competitive pistol shooter. I beg you to tell your buddy to not use this holster and don't make one for yourself or anybody else.

You make a very compelling arguement.

@@GPWoodworks While you do nice work, I have to agree with Arthur. The trigger guard on any holster is a very important part of safety.

Quality work, but I have to completely agree with Mr. Turner. I do hope there is some beyond extraordinary liability insurance in place with this design of holster. Look at competition rigs, even the trigger guards are covered.

Why would you cut away the trigger guard it's a safety thing number one number two you get 90% of retention around the trigger I know that's why you have a strap on there but to get rid of leather covering the trigger is crazy don't shoot yourself
@Icanhasautomaticcheeseburger4 жыл бұрын
While uncovered triggers used to be a thing, they were for single-action and double-action revolvers. Striker-fired pistols like this Shield, however, are unsafe to carry with the trigger exposed as the trigger pulls are much lighter -- snagging on a T-shirt, the corner of a store shelf or even hugging a child could fire the weapon.

I got to say wearing that holster would be even more dangerous than wiping your butt with a broken coke bottle.

The trigger is exposed! Accident waiting to happen!

It is isn't it? It's going to a responsible, well trained owner.

GP Woodworks It doesn’t matter how responsible and/or well trained anyone is, accidents happen. And with the trigger exposed it’s not a matter of if, but when it’s gonna happen. Hope you’ll be able to sleep at night.

@@GPWoodworks Don't dismiss this constructive criticism. The trigger should always be covered... It doesn't matter who the owner is, he/she can't control someone walking up behind him/her and doing bad things. Besides the evidence is there and shows that even well trained people (especially under duress) do things they know they shouldn't.

Are you worried about the back side of both of your line 24 snaps tearing up the gun...just walking around with it on? Did you spread neatsfoot oil at the end of your build?
@charlesabbott55635 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you cover the snap backs? they will scratch the pistol surface and piss your customer off.

Nice holster (minus the exposed trigger, but that has been discussed). A little more constructive criticism, before assembling the holster, skive away some of the material behind the snap to help recess it a little then glue/stitch on a small piece of leather to cover the backside. It'll keep the snap back from marring the firearm. Also, work on keeping the stitch holes in the groove. It helps me to hole punch with the tool running away from me so that I can see it is staying inline. Thanks for posting the video.

Was interested until I saw the exposed trigger. My handgun doesn’t have a safety and this is an accident waiting to happen

I understand the concern over the open trigger... My handguns don't have manual safeties either, so I use holsters with trigger guards.

Sorry, but I thought that holster concept Look good. And as far as safety is concerned your trigger finger is your safety. If you're in a situation where a firearm may be taken from you. Well, you shouldn't be in that situation in the first place.
