Not religious in the slightest - but THIS, as praise of anything, is so sublime. What a gorgeous arrangement and how brilliantly they capture every nuance they tipped their hats to in the intro. How they haven't absolutely slayed this competition is beyond me.

These ladies are wonderful. One thing though: the microphone is awful! Voices sound tiny and nasal. Surely it doesn't do them justice. I have the same feeling when watching male internationals, the sound is thin. Strange.

It has to be because they are relatively new. After watching all of the top 10 finishers, it is easy to conclude that GQ has all the mechanics to become overall winners. They really excel in their ability to relate to the audience as non-fake honest performers. They are THE stand outs at adding that personal touch that separates them from the competition. They are #1 in my book!

They're #1 in mine as well. I'd have to question why duration of membership would have anything to do with their placement. Maybe I'm an idealist. Maybe I'm biased. I'll certainly cop to a certain amount of both. But having heard all of the other contestants, they were certainly NOT 7th. 4th at the lowest, and more likely 3rd. Ah well. Maybe this is why I'm not a judge. I also never did find their prelim scores. I do know, however, that a certain BHS champ that was in the chat room with me was in as much disbelief as I was.

I've heard these amazing women sing HGTA before, but this time hearing the meaning for them all just broke me. I am assuming the rules have not changed since my days in barbershop, and this is actually not a competition-sanctioned song. I may be wrong, but I wonder if the boldness to stand with a song that had meaning instead of a song that would be judged fairly is where the unbelievable ranking came from.
