A thing I really like about Simmons is that he's such a professional, and he has such respect for every one of his roles. Some roles are objectively kind of commercial and goofy, and it's clear that he doesn't necessary 'get' animation or comics or video-games. Or, at least, they aren't in particular his 'thing'. But you will never catch that guy phoning it in or giving less than 100% commitment. He's out there trying his damndest to be the most interesting, human version of the roles he's given no matter the project,

I really love and admire that about him. He seems very down to earth, and there's no pretensions here about "true cinema" or what is or isn't art. He just picks the parts he wants to play, and plays them to the best of his abilities.

JK Simmons is one of those rare actors who you'll immediately recognize, but then you'll forget he's playing that character because of how much he evaporates into them.

How does an actor "evaporate" into a character?
@botbee2316
@botbee2316 Ай бұрын
@ I used that term to say he just turns into characters so well that it’s hard to remember that JK Simmons is playing them. I suppose maybe a better term might be that he absorbs into characters rather than evaporated.

Oz is one of those brilliant shows that unfortunately has been forgotten. It came on before The Wire, The Sopranos and got steamed rolled by those 2 great shows. Matter of fact a lot of actors in Oz got roles in The Wire and Sopranos. Also, 2 of the main cast members in Oz that were playing psycho prisoners were also playing cops in Law and Order, Chris Meloni and JK Simmons.
