Whats so fascinating about DMX is that in our society,drug addicts are so often written off and pushed to the outskirts of society but just in how X carried himself,he’s sitting down GQ. Even with struggles,a Man can still command respect and maintain his legacy. You never heard anybody take a shot at him about it either,not only because he’d eat em up but you just dont disrespect a Man’s Man like that. You may not always be liked in life but to be Respected no matter what is something we all can hope for. RIP DMX 🤎👑

@@jamarrogers2985 true, but in an old interview, he gave Jay-Z props for winning the overall feud they've had going on, since, way back when..... Those two have been battling for years, and without really trying 'X' always got the upper hand, but Jay becoming the CEO, he made sure The Dog couldn't be left off his leash under Def Jam. X claims there's a whole album the world won't ever hear cuz of Jay, but he can't be mad, that was their thing. Some people need that competition to bring out the best version of themselves.

@@97tilinfinity it's not about filling anyone shoes, that sounds a little insulting as if you're trying to say that they wanted to be like that other person. It was more so about filling the top spot as the next prominent and mega Superstar in the rap game after Biggie and Tupac got killed. But again it wasn't DMX, it was Jay-Z and Nas, because DMX fell off after the year 2000 and Nas and especially Jay-Z stayed consistent and relevant.
@MiamiBlossom
@MiamiBlossom 3 жыл бұрын
@@97tilinfinity not really, Jay-Z debut album came out in June of 1996 which was three months before Tupac died and his second album didn't come out till after biggie died. Jay-Z didn't really become a household name in hip hop until 1998 which was when his most commercially successful album Hard Knock Life came out. Nas was well-known, but wasn't commercially successful until 1996's "it was written." DMX was kind of like 50 Cent around the time he came out, there was a huge hype around him but then after the hype died down so did his career.

I'm so glad he didn't die during his hayday like Tupac and Biggie did. At least he made an impact before he met his demise. RIP DMX.

He was confirmed to have passed today, at 50 years old. Rest in peace to a Legend who paved the way for gangsta rap. I'm super sad man, this all happened so fast. We lost a good soul today. I will be bumping DMX all weekend to honor his legacy l.
