GR yaris 0-100km/h TEST with HKS Power Editor

It was my first GPS measurement
with a smartphone app,
so I wasn't used to it
and couldn't measure it well....
However,
although I was able to record 5.5 sec.
which is 0.4 seconds faster
than the normal power of 5.9 sec....
Only once of data was recorded,
despite trying several times
with the normal power.
Considering the variation in the data,
it is within the error.
In any case, as I felt...
The difference is small.

Thank you very much. I must use 5000 rpm be brave. If the smartphone is not fixed solid, errors will occur frequently. If I move even a little before the start, will lose time. It's harder than I expected. It may be better to use a dedicated device instead of a smartphone. I will try various things. Thank you.

I think the HKS unit has more power to give just needs further adjustment safely with wideband and boost gauge in place. There are a few tuning boxes available in UK already that have dyno proven 300bhp. The HKS unit should feel faster than what you have seen i think.

Thank you for your advice. Yes, I need to add at least another boost meter, and make a map according to the target boost for example 2.0. By doing so, I think can aim for high power around limit. HKS can change the voltage freely, so it will be better to use. Thank you !

Explore the software in time you will increase the power delivery. Maybey with other airfilter can improve or make some diference!!

I've been watching some videos on how you can launch it. For you to archive good times you have to launch it above 5000 rpm

Thank you for the information. Then have to try at 5000 rpm. The limiter is applied at 4000 rpm while idling, but I will check if it can be released by some way. I'm a little worried about the clutch because it's 255 tires, but I have to set a better time !

@@GTRGTRGTR in Australia people have gotten under 5s with stock car. But they have the rpm much higher... Like 6000rpm

@@GTRGTRGTR I've forgotten exactly, but you can get over the soft rev limiter. I think in track or sport, hold down the traction control button. I'll try it out on mine later and report back.

Yes, it was more difficult to record with a GPS device than I expected. If I move even a little before start, it will be a late record. Thank you for telling me the nice video. Wow 4.8sec is great record !! Using Racelogic VBOX and he uses around 5000 rpm. Anyway good technic. I'm worried about the clutch if it's not a rental test car, but I'll refer to it !

Thanks for the video, I actually ordered one but start to regret it. How much extra hp were you able to get finally? If you have a Yaris RZ which develops already 200kw, adding the power editor seems useless since it gives you a final power of 182.7kw (from their website). Maybe you found some special adjustment/settings that helps going lower than 5sec?

Thank you for coming and writing. I'm not sure yet, but even if use Motec, the separate 4x4 control ECU at the foot of the A-pillar will prevent the power up. It is possiblity that the 4x4 ECU is affecting the power editors work. Not everything has been clarified, for the time being but you can get exciting acceleration if you constantly modify the map in the Power Editor. However, even if Motec is used, it is beginning to be concluded that the limit is about 350 horsepower in terms of engine. Many people are starting to break the engine above 350 horsepower. I think that there is still a possibility that running at around 300 horsepower by exchanging a handy power editor and a 4x4 computer will be a good goal in the case of a normal engine.

Without mechanical sympathy someone has achieved 4.4 seconds but if you keep doing this things will break. Which tyres are you running?

4.4 is very fast ! I also participated in street drug race with BNR32GT-R and broke the front differential. I also do it by Lancer Evolution with semi-racing tires and slipped the clutch. The launch of 4WD is nerve-wracking. Can't take the plunge unless have a test car borrowed from the manufacturer. Yaris is wearing a 255 size Dunlop DIREZZA ZⅢ. Because of that, I have a little hesitation in starting.

Thank you for the information. At first glance, it's similar to HKS, but it's much better than HKS because of Bluetooth and etc. Very nice. It is also wonderful that the data is properly created.

Not been properly reviewed Massimo - At the moment the Litchfield box is "good" because its "Litchfield". Too many followers out there. Plus its an extortionate £600. DTE, Racechip, TDi Tuning and JFA Automobiles have their own boxes too. DTE has been developed with the help of some UK GR Yaris owners 👍

@@massimo I found Japanese site. DTE system ? wernher.co.jp/gr4-yaris/dte-plug-in-power/ They say they can power up 25 percent. It means increases 272 Hp to 340 Hp. I think it's easy to reprogram individually because I have 3 defoult programs. HKS may thought the customer better to ask a specialty HKS store. DTE seems that it is also sold normally in Japan. @@Rocketed12 Ah this is it. Oh DTE and DTI were different manufacturers ! HKS may have copied the British one because they are similar. Even so, I didn't know that there were so many different manufactures parts. Only one HKS company is still sold in Japan. Parts development is faster in Europe.
