I'm going to use this as my "goto box" for sound design after design for major warping of the waves this this is literally clinical.

Tasty Chips this unit has much appeal. I NEED it. It gonna be sick to combine this with Blofeld and virus 2 desktops!!!

How slow do the LFOs and scan functions go? Periods measured in minutes are good for evolving drones and soundscapes. For example, the Bubblesound uLFO can achieve very long periods.

200 seconds is the longest

and if you want longer still we recommend you use DAW automations -> GR-1 CC's via MIDI

Excellent tool for live experimental ambient performance. A bit out of my price range though. Otherwise I would buy yesterday. Make one in black and I'll start saving!

The animation owes a debt of gratitude to The Mangle, no?

never heard about this plugin. it was actually more or less based on borderlands (ipad app).. at least the gui animation. the engine+controls are quite different

Bears some similarities (in process) to the FORM synth (plugin) by Native instruments. Which, right now, is half off of a hundred bucks on promotion. Don't think I can justify paying $1,000 plus shipping for the GR-1, unfortunately. www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/synths/form/

nod factor by all means.. If you want software, please do so. But this is both hardware and software, taylor made for eachother.

I get that... And, it's cool - don't get me wrong. It's just also expensive is all I'm saying. And if there's a reasonable alternative, I'm forced to consider it. No offense intended. I certainly wish your company's endeavors all the success in the world.
