I love this sonata! The passion is primal and visceral, and, at the same time, the design is rational, but comes across as spontaneous. Bacewicz was an amazing composer. I hope many more of her works will be performed much more often around the world.

So today, in a far off place in northern Canada called the Yukon, I heard about this composer, who I had never known before. They played a really beautiful piece but I didn't get the name of it. Maybe it was the concerto for string orchestra II...So now I've been sitting here checking out other music and pieces by Bacewicz and came here. This piece is so dissonant. What is the story behind it? And superb playing Maria : )
