Nice. One thing. When I started crafting I used mod podge. Even matte has a shine and weird glaze effect. I use gel medium, a little more expensive but sooo worth it! The matte is matte. They also have heavy gel medium, I would use that to glue things for my mixed media. Hope this helps someone!

Make sure you spray them with a heat treatment glaze. I got mine at Auto store they spray engines with it it's a clear gloss but it's for heat that way if you put a hot coffee on it the modge podge won't melt

These are really cute 😍 but I personally prefer coasters that help absorb the condensation coming off my drink.

The cork she is putting on them does absorb the condensation

@@Kris10Mel10 Cork doesn't absorb. If it did, there'd be some real big issues at the wine factories 🙃. She's using it to protect the surfaces they are placed on.

Those thin pieces of cork board will not let condensation run off them. I have some thin cork boards on my kitchen table solely to keep from any glasses setting on the wood. (It’s a sentimental table that can’t be bought) In 6mths there has never been liquid run off of them.

Mod Podge is water resistant once it has completely dried. Depending on how much you use it may take a few weeks to cure. Better off to use the spray glaze if you are gifting soon after making them. Blessings!

I am still figuring out Mod Podge and need a little help. How can I keep paper from getting wavy and distorted when using Mod Podge? I make beautiful journal covers, but my background paper gets wavy. I'm trying for a flatter, more "put together" look on the finished product.
@craftyjoy9
@craftyjoy9 2 жыл бұрын
Try either using less modge podge and/or us a blow dryer or hot gun dry it! If those things don’t help, after the MP dries put something parchment paper on the project and something bigger in size on top to flatten the paper! I hope that helps! 🙋🏼‍♀️🇺🇸🙏🏻

Window Clings are decorations made of a durable but thin plastic that stick, or cling, to your windows without any adhesive; no glue or tape needed, sometimes just a dab of water. When holiday is over you put them back on the paper they came and store them flat until next time. Or a cute craft idea like this comes along.
